So you used what is widely regarded as the worst translated version of the Bible? Do you even understand how terrible that version is? I'd suggest actually reading a decently translated one at least before arguing over specific words.

Well, it's possible, but pretty unlikely that the earth existed before light, darkness, the sky, and landmasses.

Also, it doesn't make sense to me that it took him so long.
I mean, if God really is omniscient I don't see why he couldn't do it instantly.
Believing it took him thousands of years greatly limits his power, to the point it;s not what Christians believe.

I'm not here to argue religion. My original point was the bible doesn't conflict with scientific FACT like everyone thinks it does. That's all I wanted to say. If it did take him thousands of years to do it, I just think of it as, he was taking his time and enjoying the work he was doing :p

Actually the bible says "in the beginning god created the earth".....later the first day was formed.

So the earth was formed even before the first "creative day." and was it a literal or figurative day? "A day is as a thousand years" so who knows how long it actually took

Oh you're totally right, telling someone they can beat a slave til near death with a rod isn't condoning abuse at all! Why are you so stuck on this one verse? Idk what bible you use, but I looked it up in the KJ just to be fair since that's what most people use, it says "IF." Mine says "in case." So first of all it's not condoning it for everyone to do it, it's saying it's possible that it were to happen. Second if you continue with that passage it talks about compensating the slave for any permanent damage.
