I've always wanted an AR. I'm not worried about the price of then gun itself, but how much for the bullets? I've been told you gotta pay through the nose to get some.
And I also agree with the Garrand over a Nagant, but I personally love the Springfield

yeah that's the biggest down side, you'll pay about 40-50 cents per round, if you can get less than 40c without buying bulk you are a smart shopper.
I buy my AK rounds at wal-mart $5 for twenty (TulAmmo) and about $12 per 20 at most sporting goods stores. You can buy steel cased AR rounds for the same price as the AK rounds but they are a lot tougher on your extractor for reasons i don't feel too motivated to type.
that being said you get a lot more out of your AR rounds on account of the accuracy. at 100 yds i can put three AR shots inside of a half dollar easy but a saucer with the AK is a good day for me.
