My own personal jesus.
Looks like this should make it, you saved my night twice. I'll tell you later how helpful the tracks were and if I become a mod for 5 minutes again I'll see if I ban someone around.

I should make a playlist of late night muffins crunch time core in case this happens again.
It seems like I'll have many more 11/26 in the future, so I guess if you can be prepared for more requests that'd be cool.
POSSIBLE STAR WARS SPOILERS BELOW, SCROLL AT YOUR OWN RISK
SO WHAT DID YOU THINK OF STAR WARS!?!?!?
SO WHAT DID YOU THINK OF STAR WARS!?!?!?
It was definitely fun to watch and I didn't feel like I was watching a movie that was ripped from the original except for the whole Starkiller base thing. They pulled it off so well and I know I'll watch it again and again when the DVD comes out. Looking back on it, there's a ton that was copied. I can chalk some of it up to paying tribute to A New Hope, but there's a lot.
I guess, and it kind of goes back to me saying how much they were referencing stuff from the previous movies. I wish I could remember them all; I remember one were Leia was talking to Han and said something like "Oh it's not like blowing up a Death Star" all sarcastically or something like that, but there were a good number more.
"Wow, this is the ship that made the Kessel run in 14 parsecs!"
If Lando shows up in VIII I won't be totally upset at that correlation with V
Man, the humor was so jarring to me at first. Like, at first I was like, wtf is this like modern silliness. But then I just realized I was so used to George Lucas' goofy dumb humor in Star Wars movies, so it was odd to see humor used in a different way.
Poe was cool. I guess he's getting maybe he's own movie or something? So there should be plenty of him then.
Lightsaber battles (battle??) were cool. I can't remember them too much in my head, but I liked them and most of the action sequences.
I also liked how the storm troopers were (mostly) not CG, like ALL the clone troopers were in the prequels. It looked sweet.
My two kind of gripes with it were 1. I thought all the references to the earlier movies were a tad overdone and they got old pretty quick. If there were like 1 or 2 it would've been fine, but there were like 6.
2. I thought the ending with R2 was a little deus ex machina at first. Like he just randomly solves all their problems at the end miraculously. But I read an article with quotes from JJ Abrahms and some of the writers which basically explained it a litter clearer to me. I guess basically R2 had downloaded all this Imperial data from the Death Star in A New Hope when he tapped into the network, and he just had maps to the Jedi Temples (I knid of also missed that it was a Jedi Temple that Luke was at, so that would've helped if it was clarified a bit more) like in his archives. So when we first see him, and BB8 talks to him, BB8 basically says he has part of this map, and asks R2 if maybe he has the rest. And since he's in low power mode, I guess it takes him awhile to piece it all together, and that what he's asking might be important and have some relevance. So, I'm a little more content with the ending after hearing all that explained.
One last thing.. Rey is awesome. I love her character the more I think about it.

There were 2 lightsaber battles, one between Finn and a stormtrooper with an electric mace majigger where Finn kept blowing it and the one near the end.
The one part that I wasn't totally into the jokes was when Kylo Ren catches Poe at the beginning and Poe asks him how the whole interrogation thing is supposed to go. After that I liked all the silliness.
The parts with R2D2 were dumb. When they first found him I thought C-3PO was going to say something to the effect of "I'm sorry, he has droid cancer, there's nothing we could do..." The part where BB8 just plops his map fragment into the one R2D2 had made me groan a little bit. "This map matches no known systems!!!!!" *just a big chunk of a galaxy map* Come on.
I'm sure Poe will have a much bigger role in VIII.
Rey is a good character. I liked how she was able to hold her own in the lightsaber battle against an injured Kylo Ren because of her experience with that stick she always carried around, while Finn blew it yet again.
I also thought it was funny how small Captain Phasma's role was even though she has such a merchandise presence and she was all played up in the trailers.

Yeahhh the part with the map matching no known systems was also kind of like UMMMMM. My only guess is that the Jedi Temples are supposed to be so well hidden that that's why no one would recognize them. Maybe...
I never considered Rey's stick experience, but that's cool. I just thought it was because she the force is strong with her and not as much with Finn so that's why he has no light saber skills. I guess it's a combination of both. Some people are guessing (spoiler if you don't want to hear this, it's not official or anything but just some guesses, and maybe you've already guessed this as well) that Luke is Rey's father. My only question would be who did he dink? But it might make sense, because in that one flashback of Kylo Ren taking her family away, R2 is there. Of course, maybe that was just because it happened when she grabbed Luke's lightsaber so those were just his memories, or they were just mixed memories of both? I dunno
I didn't really know anything about the Captain prior tbh. I guess I must've seen her in the trailers but I only watched most of them just once (the longer one's at least), cause I was trying to go in as naked as possible (figuratively and literally).

Well she was in commercials too, and people were talking about her. I didn't watch any of the trailers because I didn't want to know anything going into it either, but I've been seeing Phasma action figures all over.
I knew the names of the cast and their characters from some casting rumors thing on imdb way before it came out, back when people were still wondering of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill would come back. Other than that, the announcement trailer and a couple pictures, I was in the dark. I even avoided promotional posters.
Yeah bro! I even avoided the Han Solo spoilers by basically staying off the internet between the premiere and when I watched it.
You just reminded me, the ending was so stupid. It's pretty funny that Luke doesn't have a single line though.
I've been referring to his previous physique as ogre-like. He really got himself together.
Sounds like VIII is going to be a remake of V
Is that what you've wanted all along, or is it a new hope?
The spirit, yeah. Not the same basic plot though. I think they captured the spirit of the series pretty well with The Force Awakens.
Yes, but I thought the plot was different enough to not be the same movie. It had a couple similar things (youth feeling misplaced goes on journey, blow up a big space station) but it was still had enough of its own story that I never really thought about it in that way while watching it.

I listened to Murmuüre during my shift today. It was pretty cool. Got some Roly Porter vibes from it, except with more like smashing drums and **** .
Good listen, friend.
Good listen, friend.
All that distortion is awesome. That lo-fi black metal aesthetic is so perfect in it, like you can barely hear half of what's going on.
It hits every point on my splooge checklist, whatever those are.
This has been high up there with a good score on the splooge checklist for me recently www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFnc8YB71E4
that artist name...
www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7JDn9TLFZU
This is so ultrablue I don't even need to hear it, I can tell by the artwork alone.

HAHA yes to both. But to be fair, though I found this bandcamp link on my own, the name of the artist was familiar, and I had to look at some of the older albums to realize that clunky was actually the one who originally showed me this guy years ago. So credit to the omnipresent clunkybot.
Is admin ******* up the site again or is it just me?
It looks normal now. Admin better be up to some serious improvements.
I sure hopes he dissolves the senate soon. They've been holding fj back for too long.
I watched IV with some friends last weekend and we're meeting up again Sunday to watch V - however far we get in machete order. I'm re-watching any that we don't get to together before the premiere with or without them.
I doubt it, but since the day it was announced I've been saying we should all go dressed as hobbits.
Maybe I'll go to the premiere, my finals are over the day before. If I find out I don't have work that night I'll send out the signal.
This might be one of those examples of "you had to be there" but when we were watching the scene in episode IV right before the Millennium Falcon gets pulled in towards the Death Star, we were thinking it would be hilarious to go to the premiere and right as the "A long time ago..." screen comes up, loudly say "I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Str8 barz fam. This is truly a happy Thanksgiving.
I was a fool all this time, I better warn you so you don't do the same mistakes like me.

Yo, remember when I told you to listen to Depeche Mode?
Now I know you didn't do it ya feg, but you can redeem your sins if you check out the album MG from Martin Gore, one of the main heads of DM, because it's some really really good ambient album that if you don't listen to you'll be gay.
But yeah plz notice me senpai

There, I can't make it any more easy for you.
O yeah, and that Roly Porter album was gooooooooooooood.

Well I certainly don't want to be gay, I guess I'll have to listen to this. These synths sound great. I've heard of Martin Gore before, but I never knew what kind of music he made. The second track reminds me of the Blade Runner soundtrack.
I did listen to both of the tracks you linked. The vocals on both of them didn't do much for me, but I did like the instrumentals. I'm so, so sorry...
I downloaded Life Cycle of a Massive Star a long time ago and never gave it a full listen until 2 weeks ago, it's crazy. He has a full length album out called Aftertime that's also amazing. I just finished reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert, which is a classic science fiction series, if you don't know of it, and I noticed that all the track titles are names of planets or stars from each book.

I haven't listened to the Blade Runner soundtrack. In fact I haven't even watched Blade Runner but I probably should since it seems to be an important movie.
What a shame how the vocals are the only thing that kill a band that would completely fit with your taste profile, and Depeche Mode is basically him and Martin so without him the band is just not possible. But I guess I can forgive you if you like Martin, we'll see...
I am familiar with Dune however I haven't read the books or know his topic, only that is science fiction that plays a lot with theology. Also I know that the Dune movie directed by Lynch was originally going to be filmed by Alexandro Jorodowsky and the project was really ambitious yet things happened and well f course it didn't happened. But yeah if Life Cyle of a Massive Star was good I will see how's the rest of his stuff.

Dune has a lot of themes running through it. Government, human influences on the environment, religion and free will are some big ones. I think knowing how the different planets were described in the books and having a mental impression of them really added something to Aftertime, but even without that, the music is impressive and interesting.
I'm sure you'll see MG on my chart on Sunday. I listened to some more of it and I'm hooked. It's a shame the vocals kinda kill it for me. I'm not all about instrumentals. I used to be, but there are a lot of songs where I don't think they work as well without them. Massive Attack is one of those bands whose music would suffer without vocals because they're so integrated with the music. I don't feel like that's the case with those 2 songs, unfortunately.
The Blade Runner soundtrack has that aggressively 80s synth sound. I love it and I'd recommend watching the movie some time.

I might buy the Dune books but on the other hand I got so many authors I want to catch up to, some Stephen King titles and a lot from Robert Ludlum, and so every new book from A.J. Kazinski because so far all what those danes have written is all great. I'll make me some time to check Aftertime.
I don't even remember what songs I linked to you, I think one was from Delta Machine and another from Ultra. And yes Massive Attack knows how to use vocals, maybe what you don't like about David Gaham is that it tries to sound mega glamorous most of the time but that's like a part of DM as well.
I will put this on my Netflix list.

Depeche Mode - A Pain That I'm Used To and Stateless - Alice were the 2 songs.
I have a pile of books I'm getting through too. I'm reading some Jules Verne right now. Even though I've read Journey to the Center of the Earth a million times, for some reason I never got to Around the World in 80 Days, The Clipper in the Clouds and some other famous ones by him.

**** , I mixed it up with a Sunn O))) song.
Jules Verne is great, you arse. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is so funny when you look at it with modern science in mind. Captain Nemo is supposed to be this extremely intelligent and informed guy and all the stuff he's talking about is totally wrong.

Is "year of the peanut" some weird Chilean saying that you're translating? It sounds hilarious.
He did write about a lot of pretty forward thinking stuff, even if they were just fantasy at the time, like space travel and submarines.

Ye, it's when ****** mad old. Don't bully me for be a special snowflake.
Yeah I forgot about the fact that there was a time when submarines were not real and the flash from cameras used to steal people's souls.
Yeah I forgot about the fact that there was a time when submarines were not real and the flash from cameras used to steal people's souls.
I get it, it means something like "the year the peanut was invented." I need to start using that expression, it's great.
They still steal your soul, don't let anyone misinform you. They're just trying to steal your soul.

Originally it's pear instead of peanut, I just prefer to say peanut instead because peanuts are funnier because they make you think of monkeys.
Joke's on you, I'm the photographer.

You're right, peanut is better.

Alright, Karlheinz Stockhausen. he referred to 9/11 as a work of art
All the holocaust was was a change of artistic medium from paint on canvas to dead jews. That's something that nobody seems to get.
I'll email that to the holocaust museum in Washington DC.

LOL, I never actually noticed how bare bones that track is. Extra Slacker Keys is a nice little incidental thing, but it seems like the title would be a better fit for As Pulse V7 Beat Edit.
Jokes! Get your jokes here! Ten for a penny!
The penny-joke market is booming, my friend. What an ignorant buffoon.
I think we should have 1/10 pennies so gas prices would make sense.
Well I sure didn't get enough sleep, I'm ready to snooze. In fact, I think I'll do just that in a few minutes.
How about that Fennesz?
How about that Fennesz?
Get your outdated contractions sorted out, man. That **** ain't make no grammatical sense.
Weird, he seems like someone you'd splooge over. Did you ever listen to Level Live Wires? I've been listening to it a lot this past week and I love it.
I bet you'd dig that one. It might be like Clark with Iradelphic. I'm not really into a lot of his stuff, but hot diggity is that a good album.
I love their choice of instruments on that album. Those woodwinds and glockenspiels are the best. The way it brings back the melody from Canticle in a different setting, which also resembles the end of Orion is really cool. That's something they also do on Beat Pyramid.

Have I shown you this before? I think I have.
Have I shown you this before? I think I have.
I can't remember, I certainly recognize the album art though at least from your weekly charts. Some of this sounds not bad. That first song is a repetitive boring mess though, but the third song is quite lovely. And yes definitely some other sweet tunes just skimming through. Others.. well not so much lol. But y'know, I am just skimming after all.
Most of Thom Yorke's tracks are really cold and repetitive. I can still get down with them though. It sounds like you're more into the Robert Del Naja ones. Mission Creep is my favorite.
Yes that song's great. Very serene and pretty sounding. And I dig some of those IDM tracks I was hearing as well. But yeah, I dunno about those Yorke tracks.. That As Pulse V7 song... Maybe that would work somehow within the context of this documentary, but on it's own... It sounds like something anyone could write in 2 minutes.
Well I am now, since this is the first I'm hearing of it.
Yeah we're best buds and leave eachother silly voicemails all the time.
It's funny, I was going to make a thread earlier asking if there were any upcoming releases people were excited for because I don't keep up on anything ever.

There's at least a couple I can think of off the top of my head. But yeah, the waves of new albums are definitely slowing down in this last quarter of the year.
Was just listening to No Better Time Than Now earlier so it made me want to talk about Shigeto. Miss U is such a groovy chill song. I love that key sound so much.

I was just on Shigeto's bandcamp yesterday too. I guess he doesn't use it anymore. I just found out about this song after I was listening to some Heathered Pearls remixes.

Pulse is great, I have high hopes for this EP now. No Better Time Than Now is one of his best releases I think. Right next to Lineage. Detroit Part 1 is my jam on No Better Time Than Now, but every time I listen to it I get so pulled into every track as it goes on.

Oh yeah, well don't get me wrong, Detroit Part 1 is definitely my favorite song too off of it. It's such a banger. It was like my go to song when I was at a friends place a few weeks back and he wanted to test the bass on his speakers. It just bumps so hard.
I still have only heard NBTTN all the way through, but Lineage was definitely next on my list so I'll check it soon after the EP. And this Porcelain jam is pretty sexy as well, I gotta say.

Lineage gets my highest seal of approval.
I'm only aware of 3 upcoming releases now: Lost Voices by Esmerine, the new Massive Attack album (we'll see if that actually ends up happening in this decade) and Shigeto's new EP.

Haha oh groups that leave people lingering for years. Boards was in that category not too long ago. And I'm sure they'll get there again, once 2018 or so gets here and it's been 5 years since Tomorrow's Harvest. Hopefully Massive Attack cures their sickness sooner rather than later.
I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting, but right now I think I'm looking forward to the new Shigeto, new Laura Stevenson, and new Born of Osiris (kind of). Just stuff you haven't heard of // wouldn't care for so I don't really mention it... Maybe that new Flying Lotus group album whenever that comes out, hopefully this year.

Oh yeah, and the 15 new Muslimgauze albums that will probably get released in the next few months.
I think you showed me that guy. Lordy... 7 pages worth of releases on discogs. That's the opposite of BoC or Massive Attack.
Oh, did I mention that I've been listening to Treny lately? I put it on my weekly chart at least. It's good, I think I said before, but those female vocals that are in many of the songs also make me think of LotR which is a fantastic thing. It gets me all fuzzy inside.

Muslimgauze did actually release 2 albums this year. We'll see if they sneak another one in before January. I told you about him a while ago. He died of some rare blood disease in 1999 and has been releasing multiple albums every year since. You might like some of his stuff, I'm not sure.
Yeah, I saw it on there. It's tied with Glimmer for my favorite Jacaszek album.
Yeah, I saw it on there. It's tied with Glimmer for my favorite Jacaszek album.
It's pretty great. Like you said, those random Lusine-ish parts like in the last song... soo unexpected but great.
Yeah I remember. It's hilarious in a way because It makes the BoC and Massive Attack comment even more funny; that even dead he has still put out more than either of those groups probably ever will lol.

Well Massive Attack seem like they're really anal perfectionists. BoC too, maybe, but they don't seem so notorious for it. They're mystery men. Not that it would ever actually take 7 or 8 years to make one album to either of their standards if that's all they're doing. Muslimgauze hardly did any live performances, so there were no tours taking up his time either. BoC is also exempt from that because they're mysterious characters from Scottish folklore.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, for some reason those 2 tracks were glitchy and I replaced them.

Well this doesn't feel reliable anymore, I'm getting it via Soulseek because I need to feed my autismo and gotta make sure that all files come from one source.
I understand...
I wouldn't have left it like that if there were any skips or inconsistencies. The only difference is that the mp3 tracks are missing frequencies above 20kHz that you can't hear anyway.

I'm not too happy about my 8am classes this semester. At least my professor is a cool guy that I'm kind of friends with already.
You can do it, Theo. I know your swag dial is cranked up so far it's snapped off, but you can overcome that.
Best of luck with the lesbian threesome.

The one problem I have with interstellar is the scene where Bathew McCoconut was in the black hole and he's talking with TARUS the robot guy, and he's like "NO, WE ARE THE ONE'S WHO PUT US HERE DON'T YOU SEE?" or whatever. It kind of made no sense and his whole spiel went in circles a bit. Also, in that same scene TARUS is like "ok yeah, I got the quantum data" after like a couple minutes and we never find out how he got it or what the hell it is, only that it saves the world somehow.
Those are really my only problems.
Those are really my only problems.
Barstool McCardinalichelieu was talking about distant future humans. Apparently they can time travel and make wacky bookcase fractal structures. Still, it was just a goofy turn of events. If we're following the "black holes slow down time in their vicinity like a ************ , TARUS would have had a bunch more time than it seemed like to go around and do all his longshot, almost deus ex machina quantum data finding ******** .
The quantum data idea was just a turd that dropped out Nolan's mental anus one day. It's so dumb.

Well, I guess the dialogue could'be been better written, because he makes it seem like he's talking about like himself rather than a whole race of people. Maybe I just missed it, but my point is he goes back and forth and it ends up being all confusing.
Also, time would still seem normal to them and as viewers we are lead to believe that things are happening in normal time for us as viewers just like the characters. There is no evidence of passing of a lot of time, even if it was slowed down in the black hole relative to the world outside of the hole.
lol, I guess it was just a simple way to explain things to people, but yeah, it is kind of a deus ex machina situation.

Jeez, does Papa Nolan have to spoonfeed you everything? I'm kidding, it could have been clearer
Can you justify to me Matt Damon's role in Interstellar? The whole sequence with him seems completely unnecessary.
Also, I just listened to Vignetting the Compost. It's so nice. That hidden track was cool, I wasn't expecting it to sound like that. It's like his take on a raga or something, I love it.

Well, he always does that. His movies move so ******* fast and so much information is being thrown at you at the same time that it's so easy to miss things.
I know you have a problem with him in it. If I recall correctly you said "Matt Damon was an edgelord for no reason." He's just there to add more tension, since it seems like they've finally succeeded and Maconybaloney might actual get back and then everything flips on them. Happens in a lotta movies, mane.
Yeah I love that **** , it's like similar to the rest of the album in a way, but it totally stands out. So good.

Even if it's something of a movie trope, it still doesn't justify it if it's not really adding anything to the plot.
Yeah, that actually does make sense. I wish they went a little further to establish his character before his breakdown. Even just a little more would have been good to just demonstrate the change instead of just saying "he was the best of us."
Oh Interstellar, we'll never stop talking about you.
Lol, good luck. It's not bad, but it definitely needs some serious work.
The synthesizer is such a great instrument. I love it. You can get so many awesome sounds out of it.
I meant to write Interstellar. Do you mean Interstellar?
Never see Chappie, really. You won't be happy with it or yourself.
Never see Chappie, really. You won't be happy with it or yourself.
You absolutely don't. Unless you're a diehard fan of Die Antwoord and have lived in South Africa all you life. And have terrible judgement when it comes to movies.
No, I'll just bury it down deep. Let it fester for a while.
That's the ideal scenario.
What's up tonight, friendo?

Started an obnoxious new song featuring an electric chord organ with some friends earlier. That might get finished tomorrow. For now I'm just watching Star Trek and reading the last few chapters of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Not much else other than savoring the last few days before classes start. 2 semesters left, then I get to be a hobo.
Nope, I like it though. Space ambient is great. I think I posted this one before

I wouldn't blame it, honestly. Commie bastard.
Hold on just a second! Eyesix is there, I do recognize 4.
Damn, I don't have any compilations to test your devotion to my own collection of artists.
I guess there's Outliers Vol. I, but I've already showed you that multiple times.
That's right, I should buy that soon. My favorite compilations are the ones where all the music is original to the comp. That's why I like the OOT series so much. Everyone submits music purposefully for the collection. That way, if I check out more songs from a certain artist on a comp, I'm not hearing any work I've heard before.
Hahaha oh my lawd, you weren't kidding. These are great. That last one was kind of mesmerizing to watch, and the second one was a straight up wizards movie.
The website kinda confuses me though. Can you just buy all the tracks separately or do they come in set compilations or one big one? Idk. Regardless, the music is top notch.

other-people.net ? I don't know exactly how it works, I've never used it. I was talking about previous compilation albums they've put out. One of them was from before they changed the label name from Clown & Sunset. The two that I have right now are called Inès and Trust. They're from 2010 and 2013. There's also the Don't Break My Love LP from 2012, which I haven't listened to. I should, though.

I was really lazy when I first got it too, I wasn't in the mood to set it up at all for like 3 days even though it takes like no time. Now it's my go to thing for downloading whatever I'm looking for. There's so much on there it's nuts.
For some reason I can't browse shibe's library. Something to do with my router and I'm not sure how to fix it. Oh well, if I want something of his I'll just heckle him for it like I always have.

It's pretty darn dank, I tell you what, broski.
Y-you mean it, dad? Apparently [MIIIIM] is putting out a full length that comes out on Tuesday. If that song's any indication of what's to come then I'm sure it'll be the dankiest of dank listens.

This forum frequent puts out a compilation made by community members every few years, and this is the latest version. I have a few of the others that I've dled in the past but I decided to get a physical copy of this new one. Obviously as the name implies it's BoC influenced. You'll probably notice a couple peoples names. Also, this one might be the best yet. This or Vol. 5 I'd say.

That's pretty neato. I recognize 3 of the names. Am I an ultrablue music universe aficionado yet?
When I in Florida last week, my friend and I were sitting around waiting for the sun to go down far enough that it wouldn't boil our skin, so we decided to watch TV for a while. An episode of Spongebob came on, it was one of the new ones. We decided to watch it to see just how ****** it was. We watched it for about 3 minutes and it made me sad.
I think I'll be ok as long as I don't watch any more new episodes or acknowledge that they're still being made.
I remember a commercial on one of the nickelodeon channels come on when the newest movie was coming out, and Patrick was saying things like "MAKE SURE YOU SIT CLOSE TO THE AISLES WHEN YOU SEE THE MOVIE, JUST IN CASE YOU R-O-F-L!"

Woob put out a new album a couple days ago and I'm listening to it now. It's pretty sweet yo. This is his second new release this year. What a gentleman!
Earlier I was at a friends house playing this table top game that takes all day long. **** is stressful and everyone ends up hating each other by the end of it. At least I won though.

Lol, that's how I felt the last time I played Risk with my friends. minus the hating eachother part, though. Gotta play that again soon.
What a generous fellow!

This game (Twilight Imperium) is like risk on crack. Risk with like space battles and a million different aspects like politics and different objectives besides killing etc. etc.
I think you'll like the new Woob. First of all the description for the album is classic: "‘Adaption‘ is a psychological thriller / horror musical adaptation of a story centered around a small coastal town’s abandoned video-arcade that mysteriously springs to life after midnight transforming all its unsuspecting visitors into the undead."
A lot of it is reminding me of the soundtrack to this movie that I watched recently called "Beyond The Black Rainbow." www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHoMMENsC8g
It's pretty different for Woob in some ways. There's a couple like industrial sounding songs on it, mixed in with the ambient. But it's dang good.

Jesus, that's terrifying. I just skipped around a little and around 27:32 there's like a far off sound that sounds like some sort of monster droning in the distance. Perhaps that big kraken like tentacle in the water. Regardless, this sounds like a pretty neat project. I kinda wish it were split into separate tracks just for my sanity, but the sounds are great regardless.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing about separate tracks. I haven't listened to the full thing yet, but it sounded pretty gucci.
Yar, I've been keeping an eye on that label. Lots of interesting stuff coming out. I've been thinking about getting that Sea of Black album, it sounds pretty cool too.

You remembered! We did our first radio show in a couple weeks last night. It was pretty half-assed though. Maybe next week we'll be back in the groove.
Also, good news: I just finished listening to my first 3 hour album, The Fellowship of the Ring complete recordings. Maybe I'll check out that album you showed me after all.

I guess it's just everything that was recorded for it. There can't be too much in it that wasn't used, the theatrical cut of the movie is just under 3 hours long. The official regular edition soundtrack is only like 1h15m though.
Well they're some dang doodley good b-sides.
What's up, my mane?
What's up, my mane?
I went to a sweet bike trail in NY then went swimming yesterday, which was cool. I didn't sleep the night before, which was not cool. Today I went to a health food store like an hour away with a friend to pick up a single thing for his mom, which was silly.
Teoyeezy and I had a challenge going on where we'd only listen to albums with grayscale covers for this week, but we've both given up on it. Too much good color stuff.

I've been listening to this guy for a little while. I get some really weird vibes from his other album, which is him playing keyboard and accordion over a drum machine. I love it, but it's just really odd. Like you're in some retro-futuristic Ethiopia. Here's the first track so you can see what I mean:

Yeah, all the tracks have those drum machine rhythms going on throughout the whole thing. Super low budget. On Shemonmuanaye I'm listening more to that weird accordion than anything else. I don't get too hung up on the repetition of the drums and bass, they just seem like a background for him to play keys and accordion over. Although, the fact that is just a repeating beat is part of why it weirds me out a little. I laughed at that the first time I skimmed through all the tracks.
Tche Belew (the album the first song's from) is a straight up casual groovefest.

Idk the accordion parts sounded pretty repetitive too to me. I can forgive a repetitive beat if the rest is still interesting (I mean, a lot of instrumental music has a repetitive beat).
I could get down with the Tche Belew album though. Checking out some other songs and they're all pretty neat
Speaking of a groovefest, I've been listening to one of The Souljazz Orchestra's older albums lately. This song has been my ******* ultimate jam the last few weeks www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei9hzJkEhv8

I'm not hearing the repetition in the accordion. That and the keyboard are riffing off eachother as it progresses. He's using a pretty funky scale too. I think there's one other song he uses it in, but the rest are all major, easy going sounding.
I still have to check out Souljazz. I've had 2 of their album in itunes for like a year and a half. It's criminal because they're so groovy. I need to check out more funk too. This song is great.

It's not that he's playing literally the exact some melody over and over again, but it all blends together so it all sounds incredibly too similar to me. Something like that. If that song was like 2 minutes long I'd be down with it haha.
Get on the Souljazz train asap. Dat world/afrobeat/funk/jazzy/groovy. I wouldn't say it's necessarily more groovy or funky than Inner Fire (the other album I have from them) but it's certainly more upbeat and happy sounding so it usually puts me in a good mood haha.

Yeah, I can see that. I'm not really a fan of a lot of improvised stuff because it all ends up blending together to me.
Inner Fire is one of the ones I've been sitting on all this time. I'll listen to it one day...

Now I'm just gonna listen to The Dark Knight soundtrack instead
What if I told you I was actually going to listen to Odessa by the Bee Gees?
