You really gonna give a shit about the life of a frog?

There are things worth getting sad over, this is not one of them.

1) frogs cant die from falling, their terminal velocity is too low to cause death.
2) the balloons would probably deflate and gentily lower him down anyway

still a bit of a shitty thing to do, cause its probably cold at the max height the balloons will reach. probably low oxygen aswell. plus, if the balloons do drop down to the ground, the frog is still gonna be hopping around with the strings tied to his midsection.

altitude increases -> pressure decreases = true
pressure decreases -> volume increases = true
altitude increases -> air density decreases = true
helium rises because it is less dense than air
as the balloons rise, they reach a point where they are no longer lighter than the air around them, and thus the volume stops increasing.
helium slowly escapes from the balloons and the balloons descend.

now i dont know the terminal velocity of a frog. but im gonna go out on a limb here and say that because a frog is generally wide compared to its mass, it would reach terminal velocity quickly. i do not think it would die, EVEN IF the balloons popped.

Im arguing physics on the internet, over a video where a frog was launched in the air to the tune of the crescendo of David Bowie's Space Oddity. I hope 5 year old me would be proud of who he would become.

you are probably right about the balloon popping, but i stand by my belief that the frog would stop accelerating before explode-y velocity. cats can fall hundreds of feet and not explode, so i think similar logic would result with the frog, though to a lesser extent, as frogs cannot spread themselves out as far as cats can.

the only way to know is through thorough experimentation.
now, do you think i can get a $10,000 grant to buy 300 frogs in bulk?
should i get a dozen toads as a control group?
on a tangent, would it hurt for a frog to fall on someone from the stratosphere?
