thehistorylover (1 hour ago) [-] A prisoner who willingly took the place of someone who technically committed a serious crime. From a legal standpoint, the Beast could have killed her and be in the right. And no, having the servants invite the person in, despite the master warning them not to, doesn't count as making it legal, especially when the servants conveniently forgot to tell the Beast that it was all their fault, especially when one of the servants even reminded the others (Cogsworth to the other ones) not to do this stupid thing. | ||

thehistorylover (23 hours ago) [-] Stockholm Syndrome implies a hostage/kidnapping situation, or at least abuse. Belle was there of her own free will. Yeah, it was to save her father, but that was the fault of the Beast's servants. They knew his personality. They knew that he strictly forbade visitors, but they even put them in his chair. Their hearts were in the right, but their common sense wasn't. They made him look like a trespasser. Even back when there were lots of aristocrats with castles and mansions (and there probably still are out there) if the Master says, "don't bring people in here; I don't give too shits how cold it is" you fucking obey. Imagine you come home one day and some strange person is using your stuff. As for abuse, the worst thing the Beast did to Belle was scream and throw his own personal things. He did not beat her up; he did not destroy her things. While this sort of behavior could turn abusive (I had an abusive ex boyfriend who did similar things), my own view is that the Best didn't quite cross the line. From my own experiences, the abuse is when you make serious threats, to a person's well being. For me, it would be abusive if he threatened actual bodily harm, called her vicious names, or tried to decrease her self worth so that she would feel like she needed him. This was my ex's fav tactic. "You're no good, stupid, bitch! I should kick you out of the house!" He actually did kick me out once, but took me back in and pretended he never did any of it. Even if his actions could be called abusive, Belle did not respond positively to any of that. It was only when the Beast stopped acting like a dick did Belle have any positive feelings toward him. And no, putting her in his castle in the first place is not abuse, because she agreed to it. You seem to have forgotten the basic premise of WHY she was there in the first place. She was there in exchange for the release of her Father. She is still technically a PRISONER. #87 -

I too love history. What is your favorite era of history?(if you have one)
I personally love the age Roman Empire. I always thought it was amazing to know know that there were people who united a good chunk of Europe long before the modern age.

I like the Victorian era. So many changes, so many styles. So much literature.
You're name is history lover.
So here is the question to decide whether you are a good history lover or bad.
Did America do the right thing by dropping the two bombs?

**thehistorylover rolled image**Da **** ? That isn't a question of whether or not one is a good or bad history lover. That's just a morality question. Personally, I don't think I'm in a good position to argue for or against the decision. I'm not well educated on war and tactics, and I'm sure there are factors I don't know about. I just accept that it happened and move on.
