I was there for like 3.5 hours, but most of it was just sitting around in the waiting room, having your eyes examined, getting things explained to you, and waiting for the medication to kick in. I was in the surgical room no more than 10 minutes, and most of that was them calibrating the machines.

Nice, I really want laser eye surgery, even though that involves surgery on my eye while I'm awake (I hate people messing with my eye or things getting in my eye, but I'd do it for better vision)
User avatar #132 - thegrimreaver (12/29/2013) [-]
It's pretty low-key. They give you Valium as a general relaxant, and a bunch of anesthetics directly on the eye. So, I was nervous, but after the Valium, I was pretty relaxed. Plus it's short. There are two lasers, one to cut the corneal flap, and one to reshape the lens. The cutting one took 10 seconds per eye, and the reshaping one took 42 seconds per eye.

User avatar #11 - thegrimreaver (12/25/2013) [-]
Yes, this applies to squads of vehicles. I was reading a story about this guy and his buds going up against a group of Tau guys in an Apocalypse game (5000+ deployment points). They were getting dominated fairly hard, until one of this guy's allies pulled off a move of tactical genius, and infiltrated a squad of 3 Warhound Scout Titans.

It's a pretty good read, if you've got a few minutes.

You do realize it takes just as long to bleed out as what he did to it? Honestly if you are strong enough and use something heavy like a rock he could have killed it easily.
User avatar #69 - thegrimreaver (12/24/2013) [-]
Stabbing through the heart is more or less instantaneous, not to mention he could've beheaded it. But using a relatively light object like a skateboard, unless you use the edge like a guillotine to snap its neck, you're going to make it a pretty slow, painful death.
