Update for those that don't understand:
Pedophilla definitely definitely bad and rather disgusting, but just because it's fucked up I can't justify calling it a mental disorder without any biological and cognitive evidence to suggest so. Being gay was a mental disorder till very recently in human history (not the same I know).

Know your facts
Where I'm from, Mid Atlantic region, there are more people than you think who are religious but most are not very outward about it. You encounter a lot of people who believe in God but don't really go to church or don't go often.
I don't exactly conduct a poll of people I meet but my experience is that it's just not something that many people volunteer up readily.
America is massive.
In some areas, like the southeast, America is incredibly religious. In other places, you've got your standard religious people who just go sometimes to church.
Overall, I'd say America is fairly religious, but most of it isn't hard-core at all
Some places are more Christian than others, and we get a spectrum. Fundamentalists like me, people who say they're Christian and don't follow any of the rules, atheists who just don't care, and atheists who are extremely anti religious and don't want anything resembling it anywhere in public.
You'd need to look at a smaller sample size than all of America.
Depends on where you go. Where I live now in California there's a handful of churches spread out around town. Down when I used to live in Oklahoma, there was a church next to my house, one across the street, and another next to that. Almost every block in my neighborhood had church either on it or across from it.
Californian here. I attend a Jesuit University and still religion is a barely-discussed topic. California isn't really openly religious unless you're Mexican, they're generally a lot more religious. (always exceptions to either case). Very different in other states.
a pokestop every few blocks, almost all are church or church related. two stop a block or two from my house at the same church.
great for pokemon go lol
but yeah damn the south is churchy
As a Mississippian, I can confirm there's a LOT of churches around here, all fucking massive and well maintained. It's definitely a big deal around here.
In an area of north carolina that ranges from semi rural to suburban. There's literally a church every few miles, still a pretty big thing. On the downturn though.
Calling yourself an atheist is a death sentence in Trenton.
Well, where I live (New Mexico, southern US), people wear Christianity on their sleeve. My boss insists we pray every time we have a meeting. I'm pretty sure it's fucking illegal to have your employees practice a religion the don't want to. Personally, religion is a waste of time to me. Which is why I get so frustrated that people rely on "prayer armies" to help them through life.
I'm the only non believer in my family.
The bible belt.
Any thing below that is heavily christian
Which is why being president but not believing in god is pretty much a career suicide.
Fuck off to San Francisco and die of AIDS you failure of a human being
Disgusting paedophile faggots like you will go to hell
Depends on where, many places in the Midwest and south are heavily Christian, or at least half ass christians (only go to church on Christmas and Easter)
You'll find less of that east and west coast, though California has some beautiful churches
Pretty much this, you can honestly spend plenty of time here and barely notice Christianity unless you look for it.
