I suppose I should have clarified - I don't really want actors that are currently super popular, like Anna Kendrick, for example, or Lea Michele or something, people who are starting to become type casted. I would not object to Ben Kingsley as the Wizard, and I'm all for Carol Kane as Madame Morrible considering she played her on Broadway for a while, and she's very accomplished in theatre as well as movies.

This is acceptable to me also.

I'e gotta disagree on the typecasting one though. I honestly believe Galinda is best played as a well meaning airhead and if the casting helps accentuate that then I'm all for it.

I wouldn't mind Sam Barks as Elphbaba, I suppose. Her Defying Gravity is fantastic! Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are still being considered but both of them feel they're now too old to play the parts (and I do too. I don't think Hollywood magic could make them look 18 again, unfortunately). I think other younger stage actresses that have played them would be really good. No Hollywood stunt casting.

What's wrong with that? I wouldn't object if the managed to pull Ben Kingsley or something into the role of the Wizard.

Wit the the modern application of being cunning and quick thinking. It suggests an ability to protect and provide.

You'll be required to initiate conversation but provided you display a measure of confidence and don't soil yourself mid-conversation the odds are more in your favour than you'd think.

Oh man, have they said anything about casting yet? Wicked is one of those musicals I don't admit to liking even to people to whom I've admitted to liking musicals.

I'd hope for a Sam Barks as Elphaba (she did a wicked kek version of Defying Gravity on a show once) and some Disney starlet as Galinda (because it's funnier if it's meta). Tveit could even reprise his role as Fiyero on account of the fact he hasn't aged since 2008.

This.

Huge Jackedman held his own and the rest of the cast were largely above average but you could really tell who was pro and who was just visiting.
