Actually it's quite normal, property is assigned to almost everything on earth. Even humans could be considered the property of their respective governments. If living things couldn't be owned how would we produce meats? Who would feed animals? Consider if it was made illegal to own an animal, it would create a mass genocide against most animals.
User avatar #366 - thegamegestapo (07/28/2014) [-]
The bulk of your point is just a matter of interpretation but I will say this:
People are most definitely not property of their government. I'm pretty sure that's the fundamental core of freedom.

Pets aren't property like a notebook or a piece of furniture, you're right. On the other hand, you're responsible for your pet, you have to "maintain" it and people will know damn well it's your dog if it sh*ts on their lawn =)

Oh right, I see what you mean. I've always seen it like your pet is more like your child. You don't own them but you are responsible for them. Meaning you have to make sure it's looked after and isn't causing anyone else harm.

That's the same thing in Germany where the law isn't made by nut jobs.
A dog (or any pet) is regarded as living creature but treated as property, at least in Deutschland.
How exactly is it stupid to make it illigal to treat your dog like sh*t and leave him to die in your car?

Solar panels laying flat are highly inefficient, no matter what lenses you have.

LEDs that are visible in broad daylight draw more power than solar roadways could possibly produce, even if they had the most efficient solar panels we can make. LEDs are also stupidly hard to see at the angles you would see while driving.

Oh, and let's not forget that cars being over the panels means they're not producing ANY power while cars drive over them. Soo...yeah...inefficient, unworkable design is inefficient and unworkable.

Thunderf00t has done more research on this than the idiots promoting it. Fun fact: the LEDs alone will require more power than the solar panels themselves produce. Terrible plan is terrible.
#53 - thegamegestapo (07/25/2014) [-]
>I cannot do it with the materials I can buy at my local supermarket
>It must be impossible

It's issues like that which the research money is needed for. Perhaps the solution is to develop specialised internal lenses to focus more light on the photoreceptors or maybe we need to invest in developing more efficient solar panels. Or maybe it won't turn out to be viable at all. The thing is we won't know that unless we experiment with the technology.

The truth of the matter is that Thunderf00t is just some Amazingatheist-tier youtuber who thinks he's more intelligent than he actually is.

You don't like it, don't donate.

You forgot to mention, the X-Men are the only major faction to stay out of it, since they've been going through for decades what the superhero community at large was going through. Also, House of M had left them incredibly weak, so they declared neutrality.
Wolverine was caught in-between, seeing as how he's a mutant as well as an Avenger. Naturally, he was against the bill.
