Maybe I'll stick to the occasional compliment and something about class. Despite being one of the more general questions you could ask a person, asking them about what kind of music they like seems like it requires one to know someone relatively well. This must be what progress feels like.

Well the people i've known are way cooler than you'd think they be and appreciate someone asking about what they're doing or how they've been or a compliment on their shirt or something.

I'm sure the compliment would work every now and again, but I wouldn't be able to strike up meaningful conversation if every day I just went around and gave a random compliment to persons x, y, and z every day.

That's because you have the thought process of an introvert, you don't desire interaction with others unless you have a reason. It takes a lot of effort to change that, but it's possible. I did it.

I can't envision a scenario that doesn't end awkwardly. I don't see any reason to just say "hi" to someone. There has to be a reason for talking to someone.

I used to be much the same, but the way my life worked out, I was forced to talk to strangers and go out more, so even though I was nervous and uncomfortable at first, I slowly got used to it. Now it is literally no effort to go and strike up conversation with someone, whether I know them or not. Force yourself to do it on a whim, don't second guess, just do it.

I think it would end on a bad note. I don't have a reason to talk to these people. Unless I'm making a joke in the middle of a brief conversation, I don't have any reason in particular to contribute.

I feel like if the game had a proper online mode instead of or in addition to the team based thing then it would have sold a lot better, 1 upping my friends in skill shots online was still a hell of a good time though. And from what I remember of the ending, the robo guy goes offline for some time then reactivates and says "I AM GOD" right before the game cuts out (but i could be wrong)

I don't think my friends played it, so I had nobody in particular to compete with. I never did get into that online mode though. I think local co-op would've been nice because then you can both experience it right there. I've always just had a soft spot for local co-op though.

Also, I looked up the ending, and I remember that the main guy and girl get shuttled off into space, the main bad guy who was supposed to be dead really isn't (which is probably where you're thing comes in) and he takes control of the supporting good guy, who is now a bad guy.
