why use adblocker if you don't click on the shit to begin with cause you actually use your head for something more than a hatrack

TBH I'd rather just pay a site like youtube for their services instead of gay fucking ads
#149 - anon (08/08/2013) [-]
You assholes should stop advertising adblocker as a good thing.

It may be overly complicated for a fucking retard like you, but nothing is free and advertisements earn money for websites, that you'd otherwise refuse to pay.

It's fine if you choose to use it, but it's not a good choice. I use it, but I know damn well that it's morally decrepit, that I don't bring in the ad-revenue for the websites I like.

TL;DR: Go fuck yourself with a rake you fucking neckbeard. Adblocker is a bad thing to use.

I don't know man, sometimes I consider getting it, but then I see this really awesome ad, and it makes me not want to use it for that slim chance that I'll see something life changing.
#42 - thecurlysage (08/08/2013) [-]
adblocker itself is life changing
User avatar
#50 - BoxSocial (08/08/2013) [-]
But that's just one event, the life changing though ads is potentially limitless, only bound by the amount of time I spend cruising.

In retrospect, I'm not sure why I haven't thought of something like that before... Oh well.

I'm not saying it doesn't block ads.
Sometimes when you go to these download sites, you get "false download" buttons.
They're still ads, but doesn't work the same as other ads.
#34 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
Right click the picture, and go to the adblock section. It will allow you to block that specific ad, and adjust how much of the site it blocks.
User avatar
#93 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
sometimes there's a tiny little checkbox at the bottom of the screen that says "download with our super not-a-virus downloader!" which is checked by default.

I download a lot of porn.
#94 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
I'm a bit curious: why download it?
User avatar
#95 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
at my university, you can't use the internet to watch porn. it'll get flagged and you'll get in some deep shit.

since I'm at home for the summer, I download all the videos I like so I can watch them throughout the school year.

preemptive fapping
#96 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
Have they ever said why they don't allow it?
User avatar
#97 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
because university internet is for university work.

watching porn is immoral and fun
#98 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
I'm assuming a bit here, but bear with me. So, you live at the university (and I'm guessing this is in the US), and they don't allow you to do whatever with the internet they provide when you're done with school for the day? Sounds like it's time to get some VPN software.
User avatar
#99 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
you can pay for internet, which you can do whatever the (legal) fuck you want to.

you're just not allowed to watch porn with the free internet service.
sounds reasonable enough to me.
#100 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
I guess. Good thing that it's possible to get your own connection.
User avatar
#101 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
you also aren't allowed to use proxies or play online games with your xbox or ps3 with the free service.

the ethernet port is registered to your computer, and your computer only.
#102 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
I feel that's a little overboard with the restrictions, to be honest.
User avatar
#104 - coolcalx (08/08/2013) [-]
the problem is, they have to be able to track what you're doing, to make sure you're following university policies. if anyone illegally downloads a movie through your ethernet connection, you are legally at fault.

that actually happened last semester. someone torrented a movie from someone else's port, and he got sued.

him and his roommates all split the fee.
#107 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
That's a pretty stark contrast to what I'm used to here. At my school, you can do whatever you want with the internet connection, as long as it's legal, and you're not watching porn during lessons (grounds for temporary suspension, usually a week or two). It's the same with our universities, and the dorm areas.
User avatar
#76 - kwanzalord (08/08/2013) [-]
lol, well I know about that.
It's too much work, something new pops up and you gotta block it all over again.

User avatar
#19 - demandsgayversion (08/07/2013) [-]
I'm fine with that seeing as you aren't complaining about ads.
#13 - anon (08/07/2013) [-]
i respect that you know how ads work. but i choose to use adblock so maybe one day ads wont be forced up your ass. i literally cannot watch a video without 15 seconds of my life being wasted. So whats more important, some website making money or your life?
User avatar
#16 - themurp (08/07/2013) [-]
That would make the site cease to exist. It costs money to run a site. Do you want a video with ads? Or no video at all?
#92 - alexanderh (08/08/2013) [-]
I'd prefer a video, supported by ads, but without video ads before the actual video. They are annoying as fuck.
User avatar
#12 - zplatter (08/07/2013) [-]
Respect for that, but don't you need to click on one of the advertisements for it to actually be helpful?
User avatar
#17 - themurp (08/07/2013) [-]
It depends on the ad service. Some are by click and some are by views. Some know if people are using adblock. I always click on ads if I think it's worth my time. Although; I usually don't think they're worth my time.

My word! English is one of the most expressive languages in the world! I can't believe you're ashamed of it. With English, we can not only be sad, but also melancholy, down, depressed, cold, hollow, etc. Instead of happy, we can be excited, elated, empowered or content. Remember, just as there is no power in a silent voice, there is no beauty in a word unwritten.

Also, the "Italian hand gestures" thing is a bit racist.
