CS != engineering
And it's cause there ain't no bitches in CS
User avatar #319363 - thechosentroll (09/16/2014) [-]
It's classified as an engineering degree here, so it includes advanced advanced math, physics, electric stuff and a shitton of other engineering crap as well as the computer stuff. They make sure everyone who survives these 4-5 years is a jack of all trades. Also, at least a third of the group seems to be female.
User avatar #319364 - ferrettamer (09/16/2014) [-]
Really? In Canada most schools give our science degrees for CS, or usually whatever they give math majors. I get an actual bachelor of CS though cause I'm special. And are you sure? Cause in my math classes, like 30% are girls, but in my CS course there was like 5% girls
User avatar #319365 - thechosentroll (09/16/2014) [-]
I've probably mentioned before that I'm not canadian. No idea what a science degree is either. CS is a bachelors' degree here with various options for majors, one of which is Computer Science. Yup, it's both a bachelors and a masters' degree. Could also be a doctors' degree for all I know. I haven't checked. Education around here's a bit....................... weird. Basically, you sign up for one thing, but you study 5. Also, we don't pick and choose classes. You have to go to everything, so there's the same percentage of girls in all classes.
User avatar #319367 - ferrettamer (09/16/2014) [-]
Well I knew you weren't Canadian, I was just saying cause I am and that's what I know most about. And that's weird as fuck, I mean, first year you don't get much choices here, it's pretty much the same throughout your faculty, but like, we at least get 2 electives most of the time, and get to choose between intro, regular and advanced courses for our compulsory courses
User avatar #319373 - thechosentroll (09/16/2014) [-]
We have extra classes you can take to the side for even more qualifications. I guess that's similar. Still, we have a predetermined plan, which has to be followed and we can't skip out of anything in it. You can't lessen the load, only increase it.

User avatar #319366 - alexanderburns (09/16/2014) [-]
Saying "you don't have your own comeback" is not a comeback. You don't have a comeback. You also don't have a history of being witty or insulting. In all my browsing I have read no comment of yours that possessed any degree of wit, and your insults barely meet the criteria of standard playground quality. You're a pompous dumbass and I challenge you to actually come up with a valid insult or character flaw which I possess (and have not spoken of before). Your insults are weak chest beating attempts and now's your chance to show me this witty tough guy you've deluded yourself into thinking you are.
User avatar #319368 - thechosentroll (09/16/2014) [-]
Or I could just say "NO U!" because proving something I don't care about to someone I don't care about isn't exactly something I care about and continue making shitty, short replies, because I'm literally killing time until I come up with something else to do right now.
User avatar #319369 - alexanderburns (09/16/2014) [-]
I'm sure you'll be adding this to your long list of "witty insults".

Joker Beats Up Harley Quinn Basically she was a his psychologist but he got in her head and wrapped it; now she is blindly in love with him however he only loves himself. She goes to extreme lengths just to please him but it's never enough. To the Joker, Harley is expendable and he regularly beats her if she does something wrong; she's just there for sex and to do his bidding.
Joker's and Harley's relationship has never been 'healthy'.
If you play the Batman games, In Asylum you'll see that Joker gives little to no fucks about Harley getting captured by Batman after telling her to go fight him.
User avatar #23 - thechosentroll (09/15/2014) [-]
Yes, I'm aware of that, but it doesn't seem all that tragic. She fell in love with a nutjob and they have an abusive relationship. That's not exactly "I had to kill my friend, because he went crazy with power and he died in my arms" or "My planet blew up" levels of tragic.

Getting knocked up by your abusive boyfriend and being forced to basically abandon your kid, because otherwise he'd throw either it or you out is a bit more tragic than just their relationship, which is basically Stockholm syndrome with the occasional session of angry sex.

OH! I remembered another one. This is an actual myth. Or at least a really old folk tale. I'm from Bulgaria, by the way. Right above Greece on the map.

The myth's about why we're so talented in all sorts of stuff. It says that after God was done making the countries he gave gifts to the people of each one. He gave the greeks a talent for math and phylosophy, he gave gypsies a talent for music and dance and so on. While God was giving those away, the bulgarian guy was in the shitter, so he missed it and when he went to get his gifts God had run out, so in order to give him something he took a little bit of the other countries' talents, mashed them together and gave it to him.

We also have a folk song about how a guys' mother was a slut. Things are kind of weird around here.

As I live in a region that was occupied by Russia (the russians were even fighting in my hometown against the SS in the neighbourtown) and near the american occupation zone I have talked with some people that are actual time witnesses.
Most of them liked the Russians and many even preferred them over americans mostly because "They weren't arrogant as fuck because they didn't see themselves as heroes but just wanted to go home"

There was one case of rape by a russian in my neighbour town afaik. He was court-martialled and shot by his superior.

The US government is scared shitless of Russia. And any other country that are in possession of nuclear arms. Otherwise North Korea would cease to exist in a flash.

The Wehrmacht was no different, and the US has not complained about who they work with at long as they complete the mission. The guy who staged the My Lai massacre ordered the brutal killing of hundred of civilians, and many women were gangraped an mutilated. He received 3 and a half years of house arrest.
User avatar #61 - jjvoodoo (09/16/2014) [-]
we are not scared shitless of Russia don't make me laugh, and the only reason we allow north Korea so stay around is because there the pet dog of china, china being the only country that could go tow to tow with us in a fight these days. BTW the american army has done some nasty shit but at least is isnt expected of us like it is of russia
#62 - comradewinter (09/16/2014) [-]
China doesn't have the same military strength of Russia. They have fewer nuclear arms and a smaller range of vehicles, while having a large infantry base, which is pretty weak in modern warfare.

Also, the US has killed over a million civilians since the Soviet Union dissolved. Russia has less than 10 000. How can you expect the US to be more violent than Russia if your head is stuck up in 1940's statistics, when Russia had a completely different ideology and sent unwilling peasants into war? Doesn't work like that.

User avatar #64 - jjvoodoo (09/16/2014) [-]
i guess when i think of war i really can't see anyone using nukes anymore because the leaders of the world know what will happen if they are used. and true infantry arnt as us full as say a jet but over 10 years of fighting almost purely infantry enemy's americans have learned they are still the backbone in any fighting force, and BTW im not just talking about military misconduct my comment on there behavior in WW2 was just an example not my entire argument
#138 - comradewinter (09/16/2014) [-]
The reason why nukes are not in question is because no two countries with nukes have been at war. But should Russia and the US go head to head, it will end in a nuclear holocaust.

And no, infantry doesn't make the backbone of an army anymore. They're handy for sneaking around and clearing hostage situations, but a tank or plane can just bomb shit to ashes all the same. The latter are useless if you want to spare civilians, but that's no concern of the US, so they keep investing in them. Only reason why they will never defeat any extremist group in the Middle East is because the civilian casualties cause uproar among the people there, and the Al Qaeda and IS can start mass recruiting the remaining survivors of torn apart families.

And yes, a large part of your argument was military misconduct. Which the US is currently #1 at.
User avatar #24 - thechosentroll (09/15/2014) [-]
Uhm..............................how? Cause if we're talking about large governments, we could discuss how ISIS somehow got brand new US military equipment a few months back. Yay!) produced an absurd amount of wheat, so whoever had it didn't have to worry about starvation, which was a problem back then. No one would just give that away. That's why so many countries wanted it.

Hah, no. A strong counterpart for the west is what keeps it at bay. It's what makes sure the US can't intervene in any country they want without repercussions.

Also, nobody complained the Soviet Union held a bit of power when Nazi Germany was defeated.
User avatar #56 - jjvoodoo (09/16/2014) [-]
#1 The US can go into any country we want, not saying thats a good thing but we are not afraid of russia (if you ignore the whole nucular doomsday that would happen if we went at it) and #2 a lot of people complained about the Soviet Union seeing that anywhere the red army went rape and murder was everywhere and ya that happens in war but they were pro's at it
#122 - firesky (09/16/2014) [-]

I know about the Louisiana purchase, but that's about it. I don't know about any other purchases. I find the history of the US weird sometimes. European history's like "And then they fought for 132 years over control of this coastal area and that hill over there, which had no military or economic significance whatsoever." while US history's just "And then they just fucking bought an area the size of Urop and everyone was cool with it.".
User avatar #31 - jjvoodoo (09/15/2014) [-]
that made me laugh more than a little, we for a long time where a small country and when we wernt small most of our land was uncolonized so any really long war would of squashed us, so like go to war with this big fucking nation or buy the land with all of our ridiculous amounts of money? though we did get Puarto Rico from spain after a 3 week war (made them free cuba to.....big mistake)

What can I do to look cute in public?..
#1983 to #1979 - thechosentroll (09/13/2014) [-]
You're asking ME? I'm like the opposite of cute. I'm big and intimidating. I frighten small children, for ****** sake.

Still, luckily for you, my best friend pulls it off pretty well. He uses it a lot to his advantage. The guy made a small fortune in tips when he was working as a waiter and piccolo this summer, since people found him adorable. Also, because he worked his ass off. He did so well his manager cried when they were saying their goodbyes and said she'd reserve him a spot for next summer. Anyway, I don't remember how you look (and I'm not sure I've ever known), but if you're short and scrawny, it helps. So does being at least mildly attractive. Also, smiling is important. People are generally more fond of people who don't look like they're going to stab someone or shoot up a school any second now. Not too much smiling, though, since you'd look like a creep. Just enough for people to know you're not miserable all the time. Not sure about other stuff. My friend never really tried to look cute, it just came naturally to him. Guess having proper social skills like he did helps.

I guess it's sort of a moderation thing. Don't be too happy or too miserable, don't talk too little or too much, don't avoid people, but don't be clingy. How much is too much or too little depends on the people around you, so you're gonna have to try and judge that.
#1984 to #1983 - venomousvalentine ONLINE (09/13/2014) [-]
I do my best with most of those things.
This is what I look like. pls don't laugh at my **** eating grin. I can't help it.
It'd be a nice self esteem boost to do what your friend does...
I think the only thing is that under normal circumstances I don't smile much because I'm usually zoned out.
#1985 to #1984 - thechosentroll (09/13/2014) [-]
Yeah, you're doing well in the looks department. To be honest, my mental image of you was............................. let's just say it was a bit worse. Just gotta work on the personality. As for the zoning out, I've had that problem too. You just gotta try not to make weird faces or stare at people when zoned out. If you try to not do it long enough, you'll eventually condition yourself. I taught myself to subconsciously follow the teacher with my eyes while zoned out, so it seems like I'm paying attention. Very handy skill to have. Same goes with smiling - if you force yourself to do something long enough, it eventually becomes a reflex.
#1986 to #1985 - venomousvalentine ONLINE (09/13/2014) [-]
I'm curious of what you thought I'd look like.
That does sound pretty handy cause some of my teachers pick on me for zoning out.

Probably the only thing that makes me smile on my own accord without someone like making me laugh or something, would be something weather dependent that I happen to enjoy.

I'll work on it.
#1987 to #1986 - thechosentroll (09/13/2014) [-]
Excellent choice of pic, because the whole "homeschooled" thing and your personality left me with this mental image of you looking almost like a male Tomoko - short, built like an Auschwitz survivor, pale, skin problems, greasy hair. A very basement-dweller-y image.

Aeiou.

So whats good?
User avatar #1962 to #1961 - thechosentroll (08/27/2014) [-]
I almost managed to get enough sleep to not feel like **** . Almost. Other than that, not much. Mostly just checking the ol' inventory to see what I need to get before I ship my ass out to university. I've discovered that 80% of my wardrobe is clothes who were gifted to me by relatives and not worn even once.

The card machine beeps at the cashier. "I'm sorry sir, your card's been rejected."

Drake sighs, deeply. "That makes two of us," he mutters.

How are you?
User avatar #1953 to #1952 - thechosentroll (08/26/2014) [-]
University starts in less than a month and I've been unable to think about anything but that for ages. I also can't sleep, so right now I'm half-dead, half-asleep and entirely pissed.
User avatar #1954 to #1953 - venomousvalentine ONLINE (08/26/2014) [-]
Why are you pissed?
good luck with uni. I go to public school in a week.
User avatar #1955 to #1954 - thechosentroll (08/26/2014) [-]
Good luck with that and I'm pissed, because I'm tired, I can't sleep, I can't think, I can't play videogames or listen to music, because I can't focus and I still have **** to do, while I will do despite wanting to murder someone right now.
User avatar #1956 to #1955 - venomousvalentine ONLINE (08/26/2014) [-]

you mained Veigar rite?
User avatar #1940 to #1939 - thechosentroll (08/23/2014) [-]
A loooooong time ago, yes. It was a different time, filled with more elegant champs. I miss season 2.
User avatar #1941 to #1940 - applecopy ONLINE (08/23/2014) [-]
I remember telling u he sucked
but that was because I sucked back then
Veigar is boss
veigar is op
#1942 to #1941 - thechosentroll (08/23/2014) [-]
In my usual Veigar game, where I wasn't horribly assraped by the enemy mid (which was often before they started giving every champ and their grandma a dash attack), a single Q would deal 800 damage and my full combo of Q, E, W, R, Q, could deal about 4000 damage. That's enough to kill a Cho'Gath. I could burst down a ******* Singed. SINGED! I've never managed to 1v1 that ****** with anything other than Veigar.

Veigar is one of the most amazing champs in the game if you can play him properly. However, he's now practically useless, since since season 3 any champ without escape mechanisms just gets fisted by every champ that does. You can't play jungle Veigar, mid Veigar is going to hate life, bot Veigar just isn't possible, top Veigar gets *********** and support Veigar is just an insult to Veigar players everywhere - all 5 of them.
User avatar #1943 to #1942 - applecopy ONLINE (08/23/2014) [-]
dude no, he's OP

but yea, I guess he gets screwed over by AD assasins.. and Talon/Zed are hot atm

But his AOE stun is OP OP
User avatar #1944 to #1943 - thechosentroll (08/23/2014) [-]
Oh yeah, I've managed to stun the entire enemy team many times. The best part is that so few people play Veigar that they don't even realize what he's capable of.
User avatar #1945 to #1944 - applecopy ONLINE (08/23/2014) [-]
Yep, he's secretely op
He does have his weaknesses though
User avatar #1946 to #1945 - thechosentroll (08/23/2014) [-]
Yup, the problem is that in the current meta those weaknesses matter a lot. In the older metas, it was OK for a champ to be slow or squishy, as long as they did tons of damage. Now, it's all about control - who jumps the farthest, who stuns the longest, who has the best AoE. That's why squishy champs and squishy champs get ****** over. All the champs with jumps and dashes instantly get to you and destroy you and even if they don't get to you right away, you can't run away. Like how Mordekaiser is now useless. He used to be amazing, because of his shield, which meant that as long as he can do damage he's tanky, but now that everyone has stun, you just stun the ****** and kill him, because he can't use abilities while stunned.
User avatar #1947 to #1946 - applecopy ONLINE (08/23/2014) [-]
Well, situational Banshee's could help his utility a lot
User avatar #1930 - dalokan (08/22/2014) [-]
Is it true that only riot employees can have RIOT on their name?
User avatar #1931 to #1930 - thechosentroll (08/22/2014) [-]
Yeah. Well, kind of. You can use words like Rioting, you just can't use riot as a separate word.
User avatar #1932 to #1931 - dalokan (08/22/2014) [-]
That means I had a game with one of the designers.

Damn...he sucks major dick in this game
User avatar #1933 to #1932 - thechosentroll (08/22/2014) [-]
He may have just been testing something to see how it looks ingame. You don't have to be good at LoL to work at Rito.

And you?

Silently judging you for playing that game, while trying to muster the will do to anything. ******* heat wave. It's so hot I've lost the will to do anything that requires any type of motion, which apparently includes gaming and reading. I've been trying to work up the willpower to do anything for about 2 hours now. Still nothing.
User avatar #1913 to #1912 - venomousvalentine ONLINE (08/16/2014) [-]
I feel it.

I enjoy it so far.
User avatar #1914 to #1913 - thechosentroll (08/16/2014) [-]
Nah, this feels different. It's not a " **** it, I'm too tired to move." lack of willpower. It's more of a "If I move, I'm going to start sweating again." type. I have the physical ability and energy to do **** , I just don't want to, since I can almost hear myself sweating if I do any form of physical exertion.

That actually generates even MORE heat, which means I'm going to ******* die if I turn it off, which I have to, since it's too loud to fall asleep while it's working.

Thanks. I'm getting kind of a Battle Royale vibe from the synopsis. Is it like that or more similar to the Another style of "you're all going to die for ******** reasons."
User avatar #1907 to #1906 - nomora ONLINE (08/13/2014) [-]
Nope, failure in the events equal death, instead of just dying by being near someone.
