I have a theory that they won't let this show die until they do a full Avatar cycle; Water, Earth, Fire, Air. And we've already had two shows for two elements.

I dont think they are able to do another 2 series in a timeline stand point, technology has advanced INSANELY fast from A:TLA to LOK that im pretty sure technology is going to render bending (as a fighting form) useless, look at those mech suits for example, like 3 of them were shitting all over like 10 different benders + bolin who is a lava bender. If they did another series it would take place like what? around 80-100 years in the future (depending on what age korra dies and at what age the next avatars journey will begin) unless of course they kill korra off at the end of this series (which i doubt) or have her die young like Aang, but lets say a minimum of another 60 years till the next series, technology will be too advanced, the biggest mistake i think they made in LOK was the advancement of technology (well, alongside mass metal benders and lightning benders)

I've been memorizing Hiragana and Katakana characters, while trying to pick up easy-to-learn jack-of-all-trades phrases.

That's not how it works, if you're serious about learning Japanese, you need to memorize Hiragana and Katakana, THEN memorize the grammar, THEN memorize close on 1000 Kanji.

You gotta start somewhere...

what are you using to learn it?

So far it's just the written one and phrases as I said, so I'm using charts I find on the internet and cross-reference them with as many others as I can find and use the ones that match up.

Nigga, learning phrases is not learning a language. There's nothing on this earth more annoying than when some faggot says "I speak ___________" but then it turns out he's just a cunt who memorized some phrases. By that definition I already speak Japanese given all the phrases I can recognize by sound.

While that is true, you can't just form your own clauses etc. after couple weeks of studying, everyone has to start somewhere and common phrases + common words are good for just that. I study german, swedish and english in high school and that's how it always starts

This is just the beginning, I thought I might as well learn some of the easy ones. I barely started two weeks ago.
