IF feminism was a social norm, it wouldn't be a huge fucking argument anymore. I'm not saying women are above men or anything like that. But they deserve to be respected and I see a lot of actions enforcing the complete opposite on FJ.

And if people don't think rape culture exists, visit tumblr and find a girl who posts pictures of herself. People assume that because a girl embraces her sexuality and likes sex, that means they want to have sex with them. People say "if you were leading a guy on and then refused sex then it was your fault you were raped" or "Maybe it was what you were wearing you shouldn't dress like that if you aren't looking for sex"

Rape culture doesn't mean that rape happens all the time and is in outstanding numbers. It means that rape has become something we shrug off.

I agree that Rape isn't glorified.
BUT there is a shitload of rape-porn, rape jokes scour the internet. There's a shitload here on fj.
As well as "back to the kitchen" or "make me a sandwich"
(and these same guys wonder why they can't get laid/find a girl)

To say "There's not even any jokes about rape" is just blatantly wrong.
And agreement with feminism isn't the norm at all. If it was then rape culture wouldn't even be an argument.

I just think more people should have more respect for women. But then I have a sister who I'm really close with and I have to look out for her and If you think that rape culture is an exaggeration and that there aren't people out there who hear no and think it means yes, then you should live one day as a female just to see what its like.

Rape culture doesn't exist. There are people who are rapist, and they are wrong. No one is arguing that. A joke isn't harmful, a porn isn't harmful, unless it's depicting a real rape, which most of them don't. If you don't like rape jokes, ignore then and tell your friends not to make them. If you don't like porn about rape, don't watch it. If you don't like jokes about women, then ignore them, or tell your friends they make you feel uncomfortable. There is no such thing as rape culture, just privileged white girls who want something to bitch about. The only feminism I support is women rights movement in the Middle East and other poor countries. They actually have something to be angry about, and fight against. Acting like it's just as bad in America is ridiculous.

I'm really close with my sister too. She makes rape jokes, jokes about women as much as I have. The difference being she has a sense of humor, and some girls don't.

I'm sorry, I did miss that. However, you made your statement in refutation of my inference that men are capable of giving consent, as in, being the party who agrees to sex instead of the aggressor, so I was replying to your overall message of contestation, not to the specific words in your reply.

Your point would make sense if sex was something that just automatically happened. Someone needs to initiate the notion of it, be it touching them up or simply saying "Can we please have sex". This is not giving consent, it doesn't matter you are male or female. Giving consent is when you have been asked for something, and you then agree to it. Like I said, you should atleast know the definition of consent before trying to argue about it.

If you're gonna try and debunk rape culture you should at least know the definition of "consent".
And what sucks even more is the fact your post tries to debunk "rape culture" through statistics and then you straight up say "100% OF RAPE ACCUSATIONS ARE FEMALE TO MALE"

I find it unlikely that you yourself and many friends have been sexually assaulted on top of your other friend being gang-raped. Either you live in a proper dodgy area or you're exaggerating a bit, if the odds were that high everyone would know at least one person that had been sexually abused, and I'm quite sure that's not the case

yes rape is a problem, but anti-rape isn't the main goal of feminism. They want equality, which they already have. We should be working together to find out some sort of way to stop rape before it happens but that's hard due to the fact that we aren't psychic.
