This is what I think this demo means: using this engine, you can have these graphics/framerate at all times in the game rather than only in pre-rendered cutscenes (think how the graphics changed in FF7 between gameplay and cutscenes, or even in God of War - the engines couldn't render the graphics used in cutscenes fast enough to make them the status-quo for gameplay). I'm not caught up with all the new games yet, but I assume what's shown here is a pretty big jump in gameplay graphics/framerate.

It does. Right now this still requires a god-tier computer but in the future this could mean an effective solution to creating gorgeous environments and interactions in games.

It runs on a GTX980, which is higher end, but not crazy.

That's only one computer part mate. You still need the rest of the computer.

Most expensive part, and only relevant part besides a CPU that doesn't hold it back.

So, what you're saying is: We'll just ignore the CPU because fuck logic.

When I say it just needs a 980 I'm not talking to people that don't know anything about PC components. People who do know, know that a 980 will take a certain caliber of CPU among various other components. Really you'd need a 980, an intel CPU to handle the 980, a motherboard that can hold said skylake 8+gigs of ram and a PSU to handle, etc. etc.

But that's an incredibly expensive computer. It's still in the 1000s which is not something most people will buy. Now, granted, it's not an impossible purchase but it's certainly not mainstream yet.

I think the Ad Hominem is uncalled for considering I built my own computer. The problem here isn't that I don't know how computers work. The problem is you have this mindset of throwing away money.

>Incredibly expensive
As far as gaming PCs go a 980 is a little on the high side, but not incredibly so.
>Not mainstream
Roughly estimating from a steam's hardware survey, around 10% of steam users have a card of that level or higher, and that's not including the GTX 1070/1080 that came out recently and are selling like hotcakes. Not everyone has one but if you're a dedicated PC gamer you probably have something similar
>Ad Hominem
Not insulting you just saying that if someone throws out jargon with no explanation, they're aiming the comment at those who'd immediately understand.
>Throwing away money

Nope. Centimeter is a unit of lenght, cubic centimeter is a unit of volume. One cubic centimeter is equal to one milliliter which is also a unit of volume as such. There's no cubic liters or milliliters or anything.
#84 - anon (07/20/2016) [-]
a cubic millimetre is a thousandth of a millilitre and is a microlitre, almost never used but it does exist.

No it's right
#79 - anon (07/20/2016) [-]
1 liter = 1000 milliliter
1 cubic decimeter = 10cm x 10cm x 10cm = 1000 cubic centimers = 1 liter of water = 1kg
So since 1000 cubic centimeters = 1000 milliliter, 1 cubic centimeter is also 1ml
