That is not how it works. You're not pronouncing it differently than I do, you're pronouncing it exactly the same but you refuse to acknowledge that the "U" in SCUBA and the "u" in underwater make two different sounds. You're pronouncing it that way in your vocaroo, I pronounce it that way, tehubernation probably pronounces it that way, but for some stupid reason you won't admit that fact.

You're not going to lose e-penis points for admitting that you're wrong.

those 2 Us are the exact same sound, just with different amounts of weight on them.
becuase you know, they're placed in different places of the word.

so you're saying if you place the U in a different place in the word, it's a different sound?
does this also apply to all other teeny tiny variations of the U sound? if it's slightly longer in one word, do we then spell it "ooo" or "uu"?
if it's shorter, do we spell it "o"?
User avatar #198 - tehubernation (21 hours ago) [-]
In the sound clip that you made, I hear the "uh" in underwater distinctly different than the "oo" in scuba.

i admit i'm wrong all the time on the internet: whenever i belive myself to be wrong
you have not made a compelling argument, thus i will not admit wrong-ness, as i do not belive i am wrong.

Either you're trolling or retarded, because there is a clear-cut example placed in front of you of how you're wrong and you're just dismissing it.

You're like those people who claim that "I always comes before E, despite the fact that there are hundreds of words which place E first and none follow any clearly defined rule"

I'm not taking the bait. But I'm impressed that they couldn't tell by your username. Also NASA, NATO, and LASER are also available for you to use for future reference.
