i understand personal preference but i cant help but feel that you have a different understanding of intimidation... ive seen short people who have intimidated someone much larger simply because they dont put up with peoples shit but i guess its all in the eyes of the beholder. i actually prefer my women shorter so that i feel more literally looked up to i guess. talking to a 5'1 lol i make her look like a hobbit

Some people don't want to feel like a hobbit man. I don't particularly like being short and the tall dudes I've dated only amplify this dysphoria. I wish I was taller or at least more comfortable with my height, but neither of those things I can control. But I can control who I date.

I'm also very much for mutuality in a relationship, and someone being literally bigger than me in a significant way puts a wrench in it.

I imagine you are a very sweet person in real life, but height for some reasons is too significant of a physical trait in my mind for me to just overlook. Like how some people call themselves "An ass man" or something.

Human attraction is weird and complicated, even if you're straight. Everyone's got stuff to figure out and I realized a while ago that I am just much more comfortable at the arm of someone closer to my height. 5'6"

It's quite a bit more complicated than that. I guess my brain links "power" to height very closely, and having a romantic partner significantly more powerful than me is... uncomfortable.

Locks the gender roles in more strictly I guess. Of course, this is all in my head. Tall guys aren't intimidating, I find them intimidating.

It's not like they can help it, it's just not my cup of tea.
