I actually had no intention of getting a Pikachu 3DS XL and happened to see the last one in the shop the very day I decided to buy one. Lucky!
But, doesn't the UK and all of Europe for that matter have a region lock that is different from America's? I'm pretty sure the region lock is a software, so it's safe to assume he knows what to do to hack the lock, right? I'm just curious.

<<A 3DS XL I would love to have over the Pikachu one any day but there isn't much of a chance of the SMT IV 3DS being release outside of Japan (that, and I wouldn't spend more money just to exchange the two).

Yes, he had ordered one from Amazon EU and had it ready to pick up when he arrived. Otherwise I would have had to deal with that region lock ^^

Wait, what? Maybe we are at a misunderstanding. If not, my mistake. I wasn't asking what your friend did to pick up the 3DS, but what he did to it afterwards.
Nintendo usually uses something called a Region Lock on their systems. With this lock, different regions cannot play games from another, like a Japanese 3DS system being unable to play American 3DS games. Now, I don't know too much on this myself, but I heard that the 3DS region lock is software-based, meaning that if you hack the system, you might be able break the lock. What I was asking was did your friend hack the Pikachu 3DS XL that he bought, or did he just import 3DS games from Europe from then onward?

He bought me, his European friend, a European 3DS. No need for hacking!

OH! This entire time I thought he bought one for himself. It's nice that he did that for you.
Also, what games do you have on the 3DS? I plan on getting Animal Crossing: New Leaf when in comes out where I live on 9th in America. I think it comes out on the 14th in Europe. I'm even buying my brother the special Animal Crossing 3DS XL bundle, which I kind of like more than my Pikachu 3DS even if it looks like an underwear pattern.

Only have Mario Kart 7 so far, but it's pretty good. Would like to get the new AC and Pokemon games when they come out, otherwise just playing old VC games Oracle of Ages/Seasons just got released

I want Mario Kart 7 so bad. My full list of games are:
Star Fox 64 3D
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Super Street Fighter IV 3D
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Soon, I will add Animal Crossing and Shin Megami Tensei IV to that list.
Anyway, I greatly recommend Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I play it on my Wii U and my brother on my 3DS. We play cross-console multiplayer together and it's very fun, though unlike the Wii U port of this 3DS game, the 3DS version doesn't have online multiplayer. This'll change with MH4, but still.

American comedy:
anything involving sarcasm, violence, mocking the dead or dying, sexual references, and assholistic behaviour

Sorry, but most modern American Sitcoms I've seen have been absolutely dull and I can watch those things and weep because of how unfunny I found them. Eh, different tastes I guess.
