I play BF4 competitively and it's nowhere near that bad here - What kind of servers are you playing on? There are shitty servers which cause a lot of issues but I've never had issues like that.
User avatar #49 - taniv (02/07/2015) [-]
It's been a while since I've tried playing so things might have gotten fixed. The server issues went away after a while, and most of it was bugs last time I checked. Models failing to load and such. I looked it up when they were happening and the issues seemed random; some people had a beautiful experience playing the game, and some people couldn't get it to run at all. Many games have issues like that, I just have a personal experience bias now that it happened to me, despite BF3 running like a dream 99% of the time.
User avatar #50 - MatTheNinja (02/07/2015) [-]
Hardware maybe? Are you on Nvidia or AMD?

Either way, I feel like BF4 is finally where I wanted it to be.

Hardline, on the other hand, has a level of polish to it that hasn't been seen for... A long time. They could release the game as is and I couldn't honestly think of a bug or issue that would prevent me from buying the game on stability alone.
User avatar #51 - taniv (02/07/2015) [-]
My hardware specs are pretty solid, got an upper level MSI that I got for just over 2 grand a couple years ago. I can run games more taxing than BF4. It might have been poor internet connection on my side of things, or just a buggy installation. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see how it runs, maybe it'll be fine this time around

I'll take your word on Hardline; got the Beta installed and I'll give it a go tomorrow if it's still open. Kind of excited to be honest, I love the BF series

A laptop or desktop?

If it's a laptop, sometimes slower VRAM can be the cause of bad textures - I had it on my old laptop but since moving to dedicated GDDR5 cards on my desktop I've had no issues.

Glad to hear you'll give it a crack! Hardline isn't to be taken too seriously, it's a fun, casual game and I think that's pretty alright by me.
User avatar #53 - taniv (02/07/2015) [-]
It is a laptop so maybe, but I haven't experienced issues with any other games. It wasn't really "bad textures" so much as entire models wouldn't load or function; one time I was literally just a floating gun that couldn't shoot or move.

I don't have time to take a game seriously these days so I'm pretty pumped haha

fair enough, me and my friends have discussed this stuff a bunch of times and like I said, it makes sense about guys choosing less "attention whoring" routes, in general obviously and we still could be wrong but yeah anyway.
User avatar #82 - taniv (02/06/2015) [-]
It's poor sampling to go based off of what we've heard about, and we might not remember all the cases we've encountered. You'd need to do some genuine scientific research to find an acceptable answer.

I don't believe the suicide rates are high for men than women simply for a lack of proper commitment to ending their life. If it is, then why are men making more decisive suicidal plans than women?

Men are at higher risk for depression. Might be poor sampling, but I hear more about women suffering from it than the men who do, until it's all over that is. We can call the women "attention whores", but I think that's counterproductive since we want people who suffer from genuine mental illness to be heard and supported. There's some genuine research going into why men don't talk about their feelings, mainly based around gender stereotypes where emotions of sadness aren't a "manly" thing, unless of course the situation itself calls for it.

Suicide has taken too many good people from us, me and women. No matter what gender a person is, they shouldn't feel like they'll be judged for their emotional state. Depression doesn't reflect character, that's easy to see. Some wonderful people that we've lost: Robin Williams, Heath Ledger, Kurt Cobain, and that's just off the top of my head. If they're a dick, then they're a dick. If they're asking for attention, maybe it's because they need it? End the stigma. Love your brothers and sisters on this pale blue dot, because we're all we have.

its late and I don't wanna search but it makes sense logically. Think of the times you've heard of women killing themselves with a gun, now compare that to men. Pills and cutting you have time to counter, gun to the head, you got less time than a blink

We have higher rates because we choose things that will work, like guns, and jumping from really high places, not pills or cutting

the cross does signify death and possibly mourning for the person crucified, but i cant imagine many religious people getting crosses tattooed. you usually see people like 2pac have those.

a picture of jesus is just stupid since there are no pictures of jesus. they would only be creating their own version of someone holy.

Corinthians 6:19-20 sounds like its telling people to respect their physical bodies. if tattoos are allowed, that could be interpreted as "dont get anything inappropriate or dishonourable" (although tattoos in general can be seen as dishonourable by some)
User avatar #65 - taniv (02/02/2015) [-]
Fair points. Either way, I don't think it really matters. When Jesus came down he was like "y'all are gonna fuck up a lot so like, I forgive you for those if you say sorry" gross oversimplification
