The problem is not what the kit is, the problem is HOW the kit was sold. What sold him in his trailers was artistic expression, the difference between his perception (the beautiful artistic ) and the reality ( the bloody reality) think the bit in bio shock 2 is what first comes to mind when you play as a little sister , and the ability to inspire and captivate. What sold the character was beauty, art, awe, vividness, mastery, but none of that comes off in the character.

lets compare him to Jinx, jinx was sold as a mad, gun-crazed, Ritalin poping, psycopath with the mind childish mind. AND every aspect of her enforces this idea. She uses more weapons and fire power than are necessary or practical, she needs BOTH a rocket launcher and a gatlin gun, all of her guns are personified with childish names, she has explosive shares, a zap gun which draws comparisons with lightning. she has a giant mega death rocket, and shes hyper active and violence and bloodshed literally gets her "excited"

now what reinforces the idea that jhin is an artist whos canvas is a gun? the name of his abilities ..... the fact a chorus plays when he ults ...... In fact id argue that part of what sold him is undermined by his kit, in that people other than him percive his kills as art, Hence the who captivated audience mechanic and the point is HE sees the world that way, He doesn't make the world that way. Imagine in say Meet the pyro everyone in it started to act and realize that they were pixies and floated on unicorns when they cut away to the brutal reality bits when hes burning them alive.
