Well i'm not blaming MS or Sony for any choice they make in the used game market. After i heard that 300000 copies of Call of Duty MW3 were hijacked along with the trucks that were carrying them across Europe i knew something was going to be done about game authentication. If anyone is to blame for the change in console software it's Activision and EA.

The intention isn't to kill the used game market, the intention is to make more money which everyone is out to do without pissing off the market. I'm 100% sure the reason the PS4 reveal was so brief is because they're planning to do the same thing and just want MS to take all the heat.

Given that you can install a game on your hard drive and then forgo the disk, my thought was that the fee is there to prevent someone from installing a game and then selling the disk. One person would actually be buying the game, but X number of people would get to play it. It strikes me as similar to the PC CD codes.

yeah the thing is like the xbox got that all too and they changed the layout of it so it was near perfect but suddenly its like "hey we have love film on our xbox, lets become a tv company!" i mean if they didnt FOCUS on that id love it like super rapid access and just a better version of the multimedia of the old console, but they did focus and now lost sight of what they actually were. i dont wanna start a flame war about the old ones, that time is past, now i have to try and deal with the fact my favourite company cant even make their own product...

-i can watch blu-ray/dvd/hddvd
-stream netflix and use other aps (i have to pay for those, but no biggie)
-access to them for free without the need to be logged in to it's payed internet service
-and it's payed version of it's online service allows for free games and discounts, all with no useless ads for things gamers aren't interested in, and the ads in PS+ are only about what games are on sale and for how long

i dunno i dont think it will be, its like how your tv has a remote and buttons on the side, youd prefer to be lazy and use the remote (or kinect in this case), but if you lose it or it breaks then you couldnt use the 300-400$ thing it activates which even by microsofts recent scaming standards they would not do. like durka say, its just a navigational thing. if it was it would be like building a car with detatchable handles on the doors which just wouldnt be feesable not even just as a croud pleaser but as a functioning product

1. You do not need to pay a fee for used games. That was just some bullshit a website made up.
2. Why are you honestly complaining about connecting to the internet daily? You probably do everyday on your computer and i can almost guarantee that if you own a ps3 or 360 you have internet connection on it and have it on auto connect anyway. Same thing.
3. You don't need to use the Kinect to function, it will still work by using a controller. The Kinect just makes it easier, also tons of people love it.
4. They are focusing on non-gaming aspects because they are saving it for E3. Do you honestly think game developers would like them showing all their new games and features at a small press conference. No, so instead Microsoft showed the added bonuses to their system that they think people will love.
5. What does it matter? If you don't like it don't watch it through the xbox. Ohhhh more wires and cables, like you haven't dealt with them before.

There isn't a fee for used games... They announced two days ago all they're doing is forcing the retailers to pay them the same percentages as full games for the used games. You might see used games increase by 5 USD or 3 Euro, but on the good side MS is going to be selling really cheap games just like Steam has been.

I hope "retailers" doesn't apply to other secondhand sales services, like eBay.

I don't consider things like the used game fee or required internet connection to be features; They don't make the system capable of doing anything new.

I don't believe the kinect is actually required; If I understand correctly, it's not the only way to navigate the system.

also, all the gaming that was shown off was pre-rendered gameplay that they passed off as 'in-game footage' Sure it can play games, but they are artificially making it seem like it is better then it is in that respect.
