To quote every democrat ever, "we live in a democracy, get used to it."

the clone bits were the better parts, but then they'd throw in an episode that was just horrible.

- Anything to do with Savage Opress. subtle name is not subtle, and several solid backstories were butchered to make him fit.

- Maul's survival. see above. also, obi wan should have felt him die. it's not a thing you can fake.

- The Mon Calamari episode. we don't need jar jar. we don't need the gungans rescuing anyone. also, I checked the galaxy map - they're on opposite sides of the galaxy. if the gungans were the closes reinforcements, the coruscant (the capital) and kamino (the clone production world) were apparently overrun. don't bring that shit.

- Barriss Offee. again, well established character butchered for no reason. her portrayal in the medstar series was way better than any of the shit they used her for in the clone wars.

- Pong Krell. everything about this guy. I get it - he has 4 arms. but if he's any good with them, 4 single-blade sabers make more sense than 2 doubles. also, there's no way the jedi wouldn't notice some of the shit he pulled. fuck that guy.

- Mortis. I don't even know what to say here. what the actual fuck. might've gotten away with it if you'd made it a force vision or dream sequence or something.

- Ventress: drop the nightsister part (more shameless backstory butchering) and I don't actually mind the changes. it's a good portrayal of how she could've been, and doesn't contradict her previously established character too much.

- Mandalorians: who the fuck wrote this. I need to split this into sub-points.
- Sabine: hey, let's give obi wan an awkward, sort of romancey thing. anyone got any suggestions? wasn't that the whole point of that Siri Tachi character? gotcha. new chick. pacifist mando. what could go wrong (like, they already had this. why reinvent it?)
- Mando Pacifism: the mandalorians have been a warrior culture for thousands of years. they worshipped war as a god at one point. they emphasis self reliance - a decent mando should be able to fight, cook, and look after themselves in peacetime - quite a few are farmers when they're not busy elsewhere. but strength and combat are a part of their culture. they value adoption over blood relations, so they're more likely to form families who share these values. it just doesn't make sense for their culture to do a complete 180 like that. and the idea that the death watch were the only militant faction is ridiculous - some of the most morally upstanding mando factions were violent. Jaster Mereel's supercommandos fought the death watch for years, and they weren't evil. they were decent folks trying to keep death watch at bay.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the show had its good moments, and the clones were usually the highlight - but they did a lot of things horribly wrong, and usually butchered well-written backstories in order to force in their half-assed replacements, none of which came close to measuring up to the stories they replaced.
