your comment would have worked better with a reaction image, though I am really grateful. Despite the high protein content in the stuff I currently use I still feel intensely sore after working out even for just an hour for the next few days. And I drink about a scoop before workout, 2 1/2 after, and 2 scoops spaced out through the next day, then the day after I get back into my workout, with some soreness, working out lightly on the muscles that are most sore on non workout days helps (as I've figured out only recently), but I feel that I should be getting more out of what I'm putting in

That really shouldnt happen. After working out consistently 3 days a week for the past 7 months I rarely get sore anymore, only something when I do heavy deadlifts and OHP.
Are you getting enough sleep? After your workout are you stretching the muscles youve worked? Are you foam rolling? These are all important things that I would suggest you start doing to help get rid of soreness.
Also, why do you drink so much protein? It's a supplement and should really only be used as one; you should still get more of your protein from food. I eat a fuckton of chicken and drink about a third of a gallon of milk a day. I really only drink 1 scoop of protein right after I finish my workout, so I only drink about 3 scoops per week.

more than enough sleep, sometimes wake up at about noon or 1 after falling asleep at midnight or 1. after my workout i do about a 10 minute cool-down on an elliptical, and i've been stretching my muscles and working them a little bit for a couple hours after my workout. no idea what foam rolling is....
and I do try to eat some eggs and bacon, although I mostly go for chicken and ham....and pizza, as you have probably gathered I'm not that good in the area of nutrition for my workout schedule, I'll give what you mentioned a try, and I'm planning on upping my workouts to a 5 day a week schedule after I've gotten a little more used to 3 days a week

Whats your routine look like? Are you doing an upper lower body split or full body? If you have a split going then 5 days would be better because it gives different muscle groups more time to recover.
Personally I do a full body routine everytime Im in the gym M W F and I have enough time to recover

I usually do a high resistance on my elliptical and focus on hitting each of the muscle groups on my legs until they feel a bit like jelly, then I slow into a sort of cool-down for about 5 minutes, hop off, go to pull-ups. wide grip, side grip, fore, and back hand to get my lats, tri's, bi's and shoulder muscles worked. I have some inversion boots that I use to work my core getting my obliques and abs worked well, and after I go into all my push-up formations followed by ab exercises on my back. I am doing about 2 circuits but last winter I had worked myself up to 4 circuits.

in the manual for the inversion boots they point out you can do these kind of reverse squats, but as far as that goes the only weight i have for squatting is about 100 pounds, 20 lb weight bar i can sling into a 40lb weight vest and hold a 40 lb punching bag on my shoulders. I really should have picked up skateboarding again cause throwing on that weight vest and just pushing myself for a few miles would be an intense workout. it's getting close to winter again and i don't know how many days will have weather that would permit skateboarding (i live in ohio, the weather changes about twice a day most days, if we're lucky we get a sunny day all day)

You're probably not eating enough if you're not seeing results. If you want to put on muscle then you have to eat a lot.
When I first started working out I was getting stronger but not any bigger. After a couple months like this I started counting my calories and realized I was eating way way less than I thought I was. Since then I've gained 20lbs (most of it muscle) in the past 5 months.
This is why I suggested myfitnesspal, it makes it way easy to count your calories

That might actually be the reason. Then I just have one major problem, I can't eat more than what I'm eating now because of some problems with my stomach One of my sisters was born with it as well and died because of it so I'm trying my best not to agitate it .
Guess that means I might not be able to reach the form I want. Oh well, I'm happy with what I have at least. Thanks for all the advice though!

Is it just eating that you can't do? What about drinking?
To help me get my calories (im supposed to be eating 3600 a day to bulk), I drink nearly half a gallon of milk a day because each cup has 150 calories and 8 grams protein. Would you be able to do this?
If you still can't do this then your best bet would be to cut (limit your calories to 500 less than you TDEE while still eating a lot of protein) so you keep most of your muscle and lose mainly your fat. Once you body fat percentage is low enough, whatever muscle you do have will pop out a lot more

Nah it's more a problem with my stomach apparently having grown attached to my other vital parts inside me and they have no idea why but I've already been operated on a few times where they've managed to separate it but they're not done and they're afraid to continue because it's somewhat wrapped around my lung (which is what killed my sister).
Doctors have no idea why we were born with that defect, fortunately mine wasn't as severe as my sisters, hence why I've been able to grow with it, but I'm not able to eat very much without getting major trouble breathing and an intense pain in my chest and stomach.
And good idea! If I find my limit then I should be able to go from there and work out how much protein I can fit into that. Thanks for all the help man, I hope I can make some gains now!
