Didn't work well back then, wouldn't work now. I don't work in the CIA, though, so I wouldn't have much of a say.

I'd say leave Africa alone and isolated, and eventually it'd solve itself. It's how the rest of the world has adapted. Intervention and foreign relations seems to be the source of chaos in Africa. Mugabe had support from the Soviet Union and the Blood Diamon crisis in Sierra Leone was funded by foreign people.

Because Mugabe wouldn't allow it, and thus there would be war. The West doesn't like starting wars, and thus they stay neutral. Same could be said about North Korea, that doesn't even have an arsenal that could hurt us.

Zimbabwe would certainly be better off without Mugabe (granted that his successor is not worse), but given that direct confrontation is out of the question, the only alternative is supporting rebellious groups. Not sure if Zimbabwe has any notable, but history dictates that it hasn't helped much.

fuck man, why not just have the cia take put someone else in power, like the shah in the late 1960s iran, or some other form of indirect imperialism, granted it would have to be better thought out than that one

It's not against the international law if it's due to incompetence. He's not starving his people, he just removed those who were able to provide. Naturally, the anti-white legislation was condemned by the ones interested, but who gives a shit about Africa anyway?

If a Westerner had done the same to blacks as Mugabe did to whites, however, the news would blow up.
#172 - swiggityswooty (05/26/2016) [-]
then why doesn't a europeon country atleast annex it, the people dont suffer, the europeon country gets access to natural resources to restimulate their shitty economic situation, maybe even set up some refugee camps away from their general population or something.

Pretty much, but it's more accurate to say Antimatter is like the 'left handed' version of normal matter. If out entire universe was almost 100% antimatter, it would behave basically exactly the same way (we think). It's only when you take right-handed matter and let it interact with left handed matter that weird things happen. The weird thing being that the left handed and right handed particles 'unravel' each other into high energy gamma rays, eg. turning mass into energy.

Isn't the conversion from mass to energy 100% efficient?
User avatar
#129 - gravysponge (05/14/2016) [-]
100% of the mass involved is converted into energy, yes, but any machine using antimatter as a fuel is going to encounter losses no matter what. For example, while the matter-antimater reaction produces only photons, thos photons are of such a high energy level that they themselves can actually form neutrinos and other small particles, and if those particles are not charged (like neutrinos) then they will escape without any significant interaction with any electromagnetic fields or other containment mechanism, resulting in energy being carried away and the efficiency of the reaction dropping to below 100%.

my side is - if you base your decisions on any irrelevant criteria, you're gonna fuck yourself over.

the zimbabwe example being that they forcibly evicted, jailed and killed hundreds of white farmers because they were white. what they didn't consider was that they were also skilled farmers, and know they've got a food crisis.

take the irrelevant criteria - race - out of this, and you can see pretty plainly that getting rid of the people who provide food will cause food shortages. the fact that this wasn't the predominant train of thought was the issue - racism overruled pragmatism, and now the country is starving.

as far as I'm concerned, that's natural selection.
