For me it is that moment, that one scene in every good single player game. That moment when you first gaze into the wasteland in a Fallout game, that moment when you see the shift in Zelda OOT from happy childhood to painful adulthood with your first encounter with a redead, When Mordin decides to sacrifice himself because he is the only one who can succeed in ME3, that moment where you interact with Jenny in The Darkness, when you are asked "Would You Kindly" by Andrew Ryan in Bioshock, the list goes on.

I didn't hate it, it just didn't flow as smoothly as the previous ones did. The ending fight was cool, but really made no sense, and I wish the dark avatar was around for more than one episode.

As much as i follow you, weird as it sounds, i think the parts in between cutscenes is some kind of art in itself as mentioned above, unlike movies/books, video games give you the opportunity of not only following the story of a person, but actually being there, when there story "happens". How people use this opportunity for themselves.... Well that's up them, which i think is the cool part about it: you get to be in the story, and you get to do things, the way you would have done it.
