well, as much as i enjoy fast food, i do not consider it "proper food".

name one (specifically american) food you you export.
User avatar #181 - nigeltheoutlaw (08/29/2014) [-]
travel.cnn.com/explorations/eat/best-usa-travel/top-50-american-foods-513946

Your stupid assertion that our food doesn't "count" due to borrowing from other cultures means that almost all global cuisine no longer counts. Any European food with New World, Africa, or Asian ingredients or influence and any Asian food with ingredients or influence from the Americas, Europe, or Africa is disqualified. Good luck listing foods that don't meet your criteria, prick.
User avatar #207 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
i can name a couple of European dishes that have pretty much not been changed since they were invented. Ready? Here you go:
Traditional Neapolitan pizza
Bavarian pork roast with dumplings
Schnitzel
Porchetta
Gyros
Any sort of pasta
Any sort of Wurst
There are hundrets of more examples.
Just let it rest, you can't win this argument.
User avatar #212 - nigeltheoutlaw (08/29/2014) [-]
Traditional Neapolitan pizza: tomatoes from America
Pasta: noodles from Asia
Porchetta: garlic from Asia
Gyros: in sandwich form has several foreign plants.
Pasta: still asian

All you got are meat and flour dishes. Nice try though.
User avatar #214 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
jesus christ, does your stupidity know no bounds? What can mankind do against such ignorance? Get out of your hometown for once kiddo.
User avatar #216 - nigeltheoutlaw (08/29/2014) [-]
This time I was actually not even tongue in cheek while proving you wrong. Most of the dishes you listed took heavily from other cultures and regions, which is the criterion you claimed disqualified America. This isn't hard to grasp, is it?
User avatar #219 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
No. This is not even remotely the same. What are you even tryong to say now? Jesus fucking christ.
User avatar #220 - nigeltheoutlaw (08/29/2014) [-]
How is it different? "Hur America's food borrows from other cultures, it's not real! But these foods that borrow from other cultures don't count!" Nice double standard.
User avatar #227 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
okay. this is the last time i am gonna explain something to you, since my efforts are clearly wasted on you. America does not have any dishes of their own. Just because you use a ingredient from another country, does not mean you did not invent the dish, allright? American food is pretty much only junk food. Everything else are european dishes NO NO not ingredients, dishes. Go ahead now. have that last word you apparently care so much about. The only reason i let this conversation go on for so long is because i am drunk as fuck. Now please, please shut your little kid mouth i don't want to respond to any more of your nonsense.
User avatar #314 - damping (08/29/2014) [-]
Jesus Christ you are stupid. Way to look like an ass who can't admit when he is straight up proven wrong.
User avatar #231 - nigeltheoutlaw (08/29/2014) [-]
Cornbread is the definition of an American dish. American crop, made in America, spread by Americans. One counterexample is all that is needed to make your blanket statements fall flat on their face.

Okay, using an ingredient or two from another country does not mean that food is not part of your culture. So Barbeque, Sourdough bread, key lime pie, fajitas, jambalaya, California roll, grits, peanut butter, clam chowder, frybread, po' boys, and green chile stew are all America dishes. Glad we cleared up the distinction.

Uh huh. Then stop responding, bud. Nobody makes you spew incorrect bullshit out on an American website, but yet here you are.
User avatar #162 - newforomador (08/29/2014) [-]
Corn, probably. Not necessarily completely american, but we've got a fuck load of it so we probably export a decent amount of it.
User avatar #163 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
come on, corn is not american culture. Corn is grown all over the world. There is a cornfield right next to my house in a remote little village in germany.
User avatar #165 - newforomador (08/29/2014) [-]
I just said the first thing that came to mind. I live in Pennsylvania and you can't drive 5 miles in the country without seeing at least one corn field. Also, I just looked it up, and here's a link to our crop exports www.epa.gov/agriculture/ag101/cropmajor.html. Scroll down to "Feeding the World" on this page www.meatami.com/ht/d/sp/i/47465/pid/47465 and you'll see some of our meat exports.
User avatar #168 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
yes, you export a lot of meat, but again, meat is hardly american culture.
User avatar #171 - newforomador (08/29/2014) [-]
Yeah, that's true. America really doesn't have any foods that I can think of that could be considered 'American'. We're a melting pot of so many other cultures that that pretty much is our culture.
User avatar #176 - scorcho (08/29/2014) [-]
yes, exactly. that's the point that i wanted to bring across to that butthurt retard nigeltheoutlaw
User avatar #315 - damping (08/29/2014) [-]
Ever heard of Tex Mex? Fajitas are an American food creation. Buffalo Chicken Wings were made in America. Chocolate Chip Cookies were invented in America. Creole and Cajun food were invented in America. Meatloaf was invented in America. Mac and Cheese was invented in America. Potato Chips and Peanut Butter were invented in America. Popcorn, Clam Chowder, and Barbecue Ribs were invented in America. The BLT was invented in America. Nachos were invented in America. The Cheese Burger and Thanksgiving Dinner were created in America.

nigeltheoutlaw is right. You are beyond ignorant, and you clearly has a deep seeded jealousy against Americans. Get over it faggot.
