And to elaborate on the first part of your question:
I got fucking pissed because i fucking goddamn felt insulted that she would think that me and my colleagues installed a virus on her computer. We are in the most litteral sense employed to ensure that the customers products keep working, and if we even get as much as the slightest sense of infected hardware of any kind it's not allowed on our network. But this bitch takes her sons' word for granted over that of paid professionals who deal with this shit on a daily basis, because the fucker just knows how to download adobe reader. Forgive me, but if you don't feel that's insulting i don't know what is.

My job is probably already the most marginalized and the one that gets supremely the most flak in the entire store, but the matter of the fucking fact is that all these idiots would be fucking hopeless without me and would be buying new computers every 3 months because they can't tell they haven't won an ipad every day.

You may have heard of the new hippie craze of the 21st century are idiots digging through the containers of grocery/food stores searching for food that's being thrown out because it's crossed it's "best before date". Truth is that the best before date is set so conservatively in order for the shops to be absolutely sure that so long as the food is stored as suggested on the packaging, there is no way in hell it can fall back on them as a legal action caused by food poisoning.

Anyway the entire concept of sifting through trash doesnt limit itself to food though. Some people may also go through the electronic junk and think some laptop or phone or whatever may be "just fine" and shouldn't be thrown out. Anyway the consequence of that those retards may opt to pick up said piece of electronic and take it home and try to use it. If that's the case we risk the following:
A: They probably shock themselves or start an electrical fire
B: They try to macgyver that shit and cause option A
C: They give up on B and dispose of it in an enviromentally irresponsible way, like flushing it down the shitter or something.

Now in order to avoid that, any electronic devices we end up with that we can't return to the customer, can't sell, and can't return to the manufacturer for a refund, we have to make sure is not only defect, but also visually defect. That often means stomping a laptop to pieces or hurling smartphones into the floor in order to make sure no one would want them.

It also often allows us to get creative. We had to scrap both an iphone and a semifunctional blender. Go figure that one out.
