Nowhere in the rules was it stated that I could only use the second two digits if the first two weren't within the restrictions of the grid provided. It simply, and very plainly, said use the first two or second two digits as the y axis. Therefore, as the option was provided to me, I chose the second two.

well little kid, you do come across as wanting the world in your sim city style of "unless its part of a park or landscape design then it has no place in the city" aka unless its part of a man-made or at least shaped to be included as a specific decoration area, then its not supposed to be there

and again....for ones like that tree..unless theres high winds to carry falling braches over 15 feet to the side...then they wont hit anything and AGAIN. they can be trimed back without the whole tree removed....and in case you didnt notice, if its a natural area like that its unlikely to have cables or pipes under it, or at least close enough to th surface to be damaged, so yorue kinda making shit up to justify removing it

User avatar #60 - subaqueousreach (11/16/2014) [-]
Ah yes, here we go, I must be a child because I insulted your intelligence. Because clearly the one who has constantly been swearing and blowing things out of proportion couldn't be the immature one in this scenario.

Again, not once did I say I hate nature. So I like things to be orderly, what's wrong with that? I'm not saying cut down the forests and pave over them with cement. I'm saying one random tree in a city doesn't matter than much.

Also, you're still talking about branches damaging things which I was not referring to at all in my comments. However, as far as this particular tree is concerned, you're correct, there is probably little chance of it causing any structural damage via it's roots, but I was talking about random vegetation in general, not just this specific instance. (You know, bringing in a more globalized idea of the subject we were discussing. Facts to support my thesis so to speak.)

In the end, the only point I was trying to make is that it's a random tree, in an empty lot in the middle of a commercial area. It was going to be torn down eventually for something and it's honestly not the end of the world that it was.

There are actually a few trees still in the lot with the billboards and there are even more across the street. Was that one specific tree so meaningful to you that to see it torn down completely shattered your innermost soul?

right because not wanting nature torn up just so some asshole can put a few more useless billboards up, is a bad thing
much better to fuck nature so some greedy business and tell people to buy shit

youre the one supporting "fuck nature, trees only belong where man decides to put them" like everything has to be man-made planned out

they COULD have redesigned it as a park...they didnt..they could have left the tree there and had their shitboards advertising tuff...they didnt....they just HAD to fuck it up flattening it and making it a lifeless area

you know...it is possible to prune hazardous branches off a tree and keep the tree there, plus youre just playing 'maybe this maybe that
take a look at the tree....its got what...at least 10-15 yards distance around the tree profile to nearby objects...even if a branch fell unless thers high force winds...those branches wont fall onto anything

1. Nowhere did I state the words "fuck nature" or anything even remotely along those lines. If you were paying any attention to any of my comments you'd realize that.

2. If you think that by "structural damage to roads, buildings, and underground cables/piping" I was referring to the branches on the tree falling, then you obviously have no idea what you're talking about and should probably re-educate yourself.
User avatar #58 - konradkurze (11/16/2014) [-]

because wanting occasional green areas makes me a total hippy

you just want a planet covered in buildings and industry dont you
cant have any of that uncivilized green shit anywhere can we
User avatar #51 - subaqueousreach (11/16/2014) [-]
I was calling you "the hippiest" because you were spouting "nature good, industry bad" which is usually hippie speak. I have no problem with greenery in cities, but random trees in empty lots and alley ways? There's no need for it and the space could be better used. They could have even cleared it out and made it suitable as a small park with even more trees and a playground for kids and shit.

To assume I want an entire planet of buildings and industry is pretty presumptuous, and only furthers my belief that you are a hippie. No where did I state we should cut down all the trees on the planet, I simply said random trees in cities aren't necessary. They can even be hazardous to nearby roads, structures and underground cables/piping, and can be a major fire hazard as most random vegetation is not watched or tended.

And if you're curious about my question about selective clear cutting, it's something we do in BC as a natural fire break in case there is a forest fire. It makes it so the fire cannot spread easily to populated areas and can sometimes prevent forest fires entirely. It's not done because we hate trees.

much better to fuck nature so some greedy business and tell people to buy shit

youre the one supporting "fuck nature, trees only belong where man decides to put them" like everything has to be man-made planned out

they COULD have redesigned it as a park...they didnt..they could have left the tree there and had their shitboards advertising tuff...they didnt....they just HAD to fuck it up flattening it and making it a lifeless area

you know...it is possible to prune hazardous branches off a tree and keep the tree there, plus youre just playing 'maybe this maybe that
take a look at the tree....its got what...at least 10-15 yards distance around the tree profile to nearby objects...even if a branch fell unless thers high force winds...those branches wont fall onto anything

User avatar #58 - konradkurze (11/16/2014) [-]
well little kid, you do come across as wanting the world in your sim city style of "unless its part of a park or landscape design then it has no place in the city" aka unless its part of a man-made or at least shaped to be included as a specific decoration area, then its not supposed to be there

and again....for ones like that tree..unless theres high winds to carry falling braches over 15 feet to the side...then they wont hit anything and AGAIN. they can be trimed back without the whole tree removed....and in case you didnt notice, if its a natural area like that its unlikely to have cables or pipes under it, or at least close enough to th surface to be damaged, so yorue kinda making shit up to justify removing it

Was that one specific tree so meaningful to you that to see it torn down completely shattered your innermost soul?

im sorry who's the one who fired the first shot saying nature has to bend to how you think it should be....no trees unless in pre-planned specific areas YOU feel they should be in?
destroy actual nature and replace it with man-made "nature".....?

plus making up pure hypothetical situations to justify cutting down a tree and replacing it with shitboards and claiming any voice of opposition is wrong?

you like things orderly? ahem sim city

plus the bigger tree is more capable of sustaining birdlife, thicker branches- safer for nests.....more shelter for anyone who just wanted to hang out without being under the sun...plus better looking that the smaller trees

You know, you're doing a very poor job of convincing me that you're not a hippie.

well i wouldn't really consider a building or a billboard, or any man made structure "landscape" i mean i thought the definition of landscape was that it was a natural thing or at least consisted of natural objects like trees, grass and rocks. like i said i see your point i think you just phased it poorly.

i get your point but saying "there's no need for random trees in cities." kinda makes it sound like you think there should be no trees in the city.
User avatar #42 - subaqueousreach (11/16/2014) [-]
>Unless it's a park or specifically part of a landscape's design.

A cherry tree in someone's yard, a grove outside of the library or at the local park, a row of small trees bordering a market street. All fine, I have no issue with these.

Random old tree in a back alley? Couldn't care less if it's cut down for construction or renovation.

Not to mention untended vegetation can cause structural damage to nearby roads, buildings, and even underground piping and wiring. It can also be a fire risk.

Oh I remember that now, yeah thanks a bunch for standing up for me ^_^

I'm glad he got banned, we definitely need less people like that on the internet (and the world) in general, let alone Funnyjunk.

All right, I can't find the exact link, but it was on the feels channel on a mother post, and you were explaining how your mother sent you and yoour brothers out to a back alley everytime you went somewhere, and he said it was too bad you were a brony. I replied to him saying just because he's a brony his emotional hardship doesn't matter, **** you. Something like that. Anyway that was before I clicked on his channel and found out he had been banned.
