Now you've got me curious.

After watching parts 1+2, I'd have to say it holds up. Uses music well to set the tone, multiple shots to set the scenes, the voice acting isn't too forced for the most part and it's acted in-world with a bit of range. (Spike fails as an effective audience stand-in, though. He's just too wide-eyed and stupid. I remember he irked me as a kid, and he certainly doesn't work for me now.) Sometimes really cheesy animation, but it bridges that well. The stories and dialogue are compressed but you can mentally fill it out. You have to make excuses rather often Why do they fall down with the oil platform if they can fly? but it's perfectly doable.

Ravage FTW.

It has its ups and downs, but it's definitely one of the better 80's/90's series. (The introduction of the Dinobots (ep 9 I think) is easily my favorite. It's beyond ridiculous) Ugh the 90's TMNT after episode 2 just became retarded. I watched the whole first season in hopes it'd get better, but it didn't. Definitely enjoyed the reboot in 2000 that was more based off the comics.

You know I always wondered what would happen if people realized that the Bible has been tampered with on multiple occasions and that the true 'belief' of everything was meant to be just that - a belief. I mean there is no real proof of anything, really. We could be told a hundred new facts tomorrow that would be obsolete with the discoveries in a hundred years.

I agree wholly that the world changes and rules change with it.
User avatar #96 - subaqueousreach (02/07/2014) [-]
But that's the wonderful thing about modern science. It loves to be proven wrong. If someone can find a new theory that works and totally debunks an older one it will embrace the new idea wholeheartedly.

Creationists say "You're wrong, God told me how this shit works." and will go on about how you're not open minded enough.

All of our theories today will likely be proven wrong or improved upon again and again for many many years as we advance our technology and understanding of how the universe works.

...This is really subjective isn't it? I mean a creationist could argue that multiple adaptations would result in what would be perceived as an evolution without actually calling it evolution.
User avatar #88 - subaqueousreach (02/07/2014) [-]
Except that Creationists (or at least proper ones who understand the Creation theory) completely agree that evolution happened, just not the way Darwin explained it to be.

However they also believe that before Jesus showed up the rules were different about how nature worked than they are today and they'll likely change again without warning because that is God's will.

In the end their only argument is "It's in the bible".

User avatar #84 - subaqueousreach (02/07/2014) [-]
Yes and no, it all depends on the context.

Obviously you wouldn't say you're evolving if you're simply figuring out a new way to tackle a difficult situation. That's just adapting. I guess you could technically say your intellect is evolving.

However when a species' biology begins to adapt to new things that's a form of evolution because their genes have changed (Several animals were now born with something different that has proved to give them an advantage over the others). They'll mate and pass the gene to their offspring, who will pass it to their offspring and so on, until eventually there will only be the new species due to whatever reasons (natural selection, genetic drift, etc.).

Sorry for being a dummy but this has been a debate (unheated) between myself and a few people for quite some time.

You ARE describing adaptation, correct?? Slight changes in a basically similar creature that could have adapted multiple times over??

yes ofcourse every era has it downsides too, it was in some way my point when I asked for the future eras

sweden got its forrest, in fact we may even have more forrest, the thing is that now we got roads and light going through it, and worst part is that 50% (made up number, cant remember the true numbers but they were high) of the forrest have been cut and replanted in straigth lines of tree

aka there are still forrest, but they just arent the same thing

when I grew up I had much fun playing in the woods, and theres just a good feeling knowing that just a couple hundred years ago travelers went around the very same forrest I lived close to just because of bandits and such

and its true most unemployed could get a work quite fast if they werent lazy, however new people would become unemplyed, in the 60s you only need to ask if you could work somewhere and they asked you which day you could start

and 25% is high in sweden, Im however happy to live here since few other europeans have far worse ratios

In regards to the future years, yes technology and science can only advance and hopefully make our lives even better. My point is however, social acceptance is at the highest it's ever been in history and average living is much better nowadays than what it was forty years ago.

Why anyone besides a straight, Caucasian male would want to live in a previous time is beyond me. Because let's face it, they were the only ones who had it good way back when.

All right, I can't find the exact link, but it was on the feels channel on a mother post, and you were explaining how your mother sent you and yoour brothers out to a back alley everytime you went somewhere, and he said it was too bad you were a brony. I replied to him saying just because he's a brony his emotional hardship doesn't matter, **** you. Something like that. Anyway that was before I clicked on his channel and found out he had been banned.
