You have to be atheist to point out that saying the bible is proof of God is retarded?

You have to be an atheist to be using that particular strawman in the first place.

What makes you say that? Whatever your belief Logic dictates that if a written book is proof of something then other books can also be proof of something to the same degree.
as a result you can generally see that a Fanatic using the statement "God is real the Bible proves it" is stating something not really viable in defense or proof of anything.

Well, honestly I doubt we can rationally accept the bible as the sole proof of God. It's much deeper understanding than that for most of us, but one I cannot convey to atheists and the main reason why we cannot relate to one another. I don't want to get into a long ass scientific or historical debates about religion, so I'm just gonna tell you we're not as simple as "this book was written by god. therefore he exists." most of us anyway.

Atheists often think that religious men lack intelligence. The truth is, we don't. It's just that our intelligence is tempered by some degree of spiritual awareness, which, as something that operates on a completely different plane from rational thinking and logic, is one atheists will be unable to relate to, and thus mistake for stupidity.

if you are responding to you then let me just clarify by saying that I know that most Christians aren't that simple, that is why I wrote Fanatics, as in the people who refuse to believe anything else as even an option.

Your statement on Intelligence makes it seem as if religious people have the chance to be more intelligent then Non religious people, which is wrong. Intelligence is not affected by Belief it is affected by knowledge and diverse thinking methods. Atheist often have the uncanny ability to say that belief is childish and a sign of a weak mind.

I stand Neutral in the argument so please don't take what I say as an attack on either the Christians or the Atheists.

I understand. i find fanatics to be quite close minded as well. In fact, as a christian, I do not shut my mind to the ways of the world, but rather encourage myself to think long and hard about my own belief and the world itself.

Also, I'd like to correct my statement if it gave you that impression. I am not saying that religious men have the capacity to be intellectually superior to that of non-religious men simply because they are religious. I am merely saying that as religious men, we are NOT inferior intellectually. It's just that our minds work in different ways that we welcome our spiritual awareness, rather than live solely by logic and reason.

Furthermore, I respect your views on the matter. Your opinions and insights provide valuable food for thought.
