Alabama=/=Mississippi. You're more simple, we're more...well... I'm not sure if it's inbrededness or just how we think we should be, but we're a bit on the strange side.

You have the BIble Belt and you live in states that have actually outlawed gay marriage. You have some of the worse education of any of the states and from your history you're known for fucking your cousins

I don't know if Virginia is really considered the south anymore, but most people say it is. We have the third best education system in the country, with New York and I think Pennsylvania the two in front of us, even though those two are some of the most funded in the country and Virginia's is one of the least funded. People saying we marry our cousins is from back in the 1700's-1800's where Virginia and a few other southern states had a semi-royalty, and so the "nobility" would inbreed just like the nobility in Europe. (Robert E lee is related to Geroge Washington) although the law has never been revoked, people aren't like that now.
And you're right about the religious people. They're extremely stubborn, but it's mostly the older people so as the baby boomer generation dies off I think the south is probably going to start getting a lot less hostile.

Agreed, the south is filled with really nice people, and it's really not crazy like that at all. I was born in CA, lived in a ton of places through my life, and Alabama definitely has one of the nicest people. And, like you said, you never see any of that crazy stuff.
