All stars start out with Hydrogen. I'm not going to go into detail. But at the beginning of the universe, all matter (Mostly hydrogen) was spread out slightly uneven. This unevenness basically caused balls of hydrogen gas. And so, stars started to emerge. The moment a star creates iron. It either expands or explodes. The larger stars explodes, and in the final moments, it creates heavier elements. Which is why gold and other heavy elements are so rare compared to nitrogen/oxygen/hydrogen

You misunderstand me - with science being where it is today, we believe in the Big Bang - the original explosion. It was not the same explosion that created iron and other such things, but that original bang created the circumstances which eventually lead to now.
