it needs next level stupidity to use equipment incorrectly
but a tip for ya...if you arent too heavy, rather go jogging instead of using the threadmill
its a completely different experience
go find a forest near you and jog there

Absolutely this. Road running is much, much better than treadmill, because you use more muscle power to create forward momentum rather than just jogging on the spot like a treadmill

Depends on the gym. I've found that commercial gyms tend to be better for cardio, more geared towards a "Summer Body" goal, like what stephyteddy was after. My gym is the premier bodybuilding gym in the UK, some say in Europe, so it's not really geared towards cardio but it still has some great stuff for cardio, including "The Grappler" which is my favourite cardio machine ever. I also box so that helps. In terms of footwear, I wear hiking boots usually
User avatar
#43 - drpenguinz (01/07/2016) [-]
yeah depends on the gym. the running/biking stuff at my gym is well ventilated. but some other gyms arent really suited for really exhausting stuff like jogging.

>hiking boots
dunno...never wore them...i guess they are fine too if you buy the right ones

im kinda heavy too, so the difference between bad shoes and good shoes was kinda extreme for me

#44 - cptmongtard (01/07/2016) [-]
Yeah, my old gym was the top floor of a shop, was absolutely weltering in the summer. I quite like the boots, but I'm used to them anyway

Don't listen to ghostisaho, he doesn't know what he's talking about. People in the gym won't judge you unless they're pricks. Fasted cardio (like he recommended) has no major benefit over fed cardio, and you want to aim for around an hour a day for fat loss. Mix up jogging and HIIT day to day for amazing results. To get a good bikini body, do glute bridges, glute raises, pull ups and crunches.
User avatar
#46 - classybot (01/07/2016) [-]
How many times a month would you recommend HIIT? I haven't really done any good excercises and I am trying to seriously lose all the excess fat , feeling damn uncomfortable with a pear upper body.
User avatar
#47 - cptmongtard (01/07/2016) [-]
I do it 1/2 times a week. If you're just beginning I'd say once, along with other sorts of cardio on all but one of the remaining days of the week

it's just, a lot of guys who have been there for a while, and all they do is work out tend to get upset when someone uses equipment incorrectly.

but finding a novice program to get you started s still a good thing anyway.

also, never go online to look at fitness standards, cus all the people in fitness forums are elitist douchebags on drugs. just stay away from it all and focus on fitness.
