I don't think he's actually using that personal attack as an argument. He just covers relevant stuff that has been in the news. And uses it as a representation. He dosen't say that this is how all people from Hungary act. What you're saying is a big problem yes. I didn't read through your entire first comment, so i missed out what you said about Sweden and Netherlands. This is of course a problem in these countries. I live in Norway, and we have the same problem, however we don't take in as many immigrants as Sweden, so the problem isn't as big here. I don't have any numbers on how many percent of immigrants go on welfare,so i'd like to see the source you used, if you have it available. But this isn't really the problem here. As long as we welcome these people and give them a safe place, that's all we gotta do. We could have some terms when accepting them. Lets say Norway says "You're allowed to immigrate to Norway, and you're allowed to work here. On these conditions: You follow our laws, respect our culture, and you're not allowed on to use our welfare system, untill we have gotten this situation under control, so we can manage it correctly" (Very simplified)

So i agree with you that immigrants abusing welfare in these countries is a problem, but it can be avoided by not too big means. John Oliver also said "19 of 20 industiualized countries" Im not sure, but Norway, Sweden and Netherlands may be some of the exceptions.

Most refugees in Norway are thrilled if they are allowed to stay here, and are allowed to work. A lot of immigrants will abuse the welfare system, but not being able to recieve welfare, sure beats going back where they came from.

It actually is. I understand that it sounds like it's not the case, but it is. Remember we are talking about this in the long term. If you wan't a deeper in depth explanation, i recommend you watch the newest episode of "Last week tonight" John Oliver explains pretty much the same as i said, and he brings specific sources. And his show is funny as hell at the same time.

ah good old jonny. i watched that episode actually, and i fucked cringed. the man thinks a personal attack constitutes a proper argument. i most certainly remember that we are talking about the long term here. an immigrant who spends most of their life in welfare is not going to contribute to our welfare state. therefore, he is a detriment. as of 2014, non western immigrants made up about 45 percent of all the people on welfare, while they were only 12 percent of the total population.

Have you ever read the book "Letters from a doubting Thomas"? It is a very interesting read. It was one of the assigned text for a philosophy of religion class I took. Although the book argues for the existence of god, it has a somewhat open format inviting criticism and debate.
