| .... So you dislike the CHANGE in direction that the creators have taken? That's understandable, but as the creators they have the ability to lead it down any direction they want. Personally I love everything about the new series so far, but if it's that big a deal you don't have to watch it. It's not a big deal. I've stated multiple times that I still watch and enjoy the show. Just not as much as TLAB. "I really want people to give me a new perspective so I'll enjoy the show more. N. Korean citizen (06/02/2012) [-] First of all. Fire nation colonies have been around for over 100 years at the beginning of TLA. Avatar Roku sees them himself. Advances in tech makes sense too. The fire nation and earth kingdom were the most powerful nations and they mixed when the fire nation began to colonize. Not being held back by any old functions of other cities and towns there was plenty of room for development. And just like it happens in real life, technologies created in war are used for other reasons and built upon. It all makes perfect sense. Team Avatar never enters the colonies. But we do get a hint when the fire nation teacher suspects Aang is from the colonies because he lacks manners and knowledge of fire nation traditions. And again, the Earth kingdom had influence on the colonies. A 1920s style seems perfectly plausible. Lastly, a lot can happen in 70 years. Don't underestimate that. The thing is you are looking at legend of Korra as if it was supposed to be the same as the last airbender. There is a very valid reason why the whole Avatar world changed so much in 70 years. In the end of the last airbender, Aang had just beat the Firelord and ended the war. The war had been going on for over 100 years and still the Fire nation didn't have complete control over the other nations, so this back and forth of oppression and struggle didn't leave any room for society to evolve. When the war ended, Zuko and Aang set out to unite all nations under one and have republic city as the capital. This doesn't necessarily mean the whole avatar world is like republic city, in fact in the beginning of the series you get to see where Korra grew up and it's very reminiscent of the last airbender. Also, a lot can change in 70 years, just think about our own history and how much our world has changed in 70 years. There is still a lot of room for the series to evolve in a million different ways, give it time to mature. My advice is, look at the legend of Korra as a different series and you'll enjoy it more. I understand that a lot can happen in 70 years but ancient china to modern america is a bit drastic. #123 -

| I guess I can say the same thing about the mature shows. I was used to cartoons like DBZ and the older ones. Nowadays it's very cool to have a show like avatar that actually has morals and themes and isn't completely ignorant humor that continually encourages an obsession with fame and materialism. I am definitely still enjoying korra and will probably enjoy it more with time but I guess I can't expect it to replace TLA.
