Yeah, i've often thought about how it would be if we could process the 4th dimension. It hurts my brain.

Also, i wonder if we would see it in 3 dimensions, because we see 3D as a flat surface.

I Actually think we're talking about different dimensional theories. There is a lot of debate over what the 4th dimension really is, or what exactly different dimensions are.
#196 - srslyjakecease (05/17/2013) [-]
Im referring to Dimensions as essentially the area in which something can exist in space-time: i.e. length, width, and height, being the 3 visible dimensions, time being the most widely accepted fourth dimension, and any number of unknown and
mind-bending dimensions, that can give you a headache if you think too long and hard about them.

heheh, whoops. I tend to combine dark matter with anti-matter a lot.

Yeh, well for it to be trapped in a different dimension it would have to be resonating at a different frequency. So i don't think that would be very possible because it effects objects here in ours. But i guess it could be some sort of projection, or it could be a projection or something. I donno, i'm just throwin out ideas

I'm no physicist, so I wont argue it with you. I was just repeat what the actual physicists say on the Science Channel.

They just say its the gravity coming from a mass just slightly to the "left" (if you will) of us in a dimension that is still part of our space, but not one of the 3 dimensions we are able to perceive. (i dont know about frequencies, or if they have anything to do with this theory, as i know next to nothing about extra-dimensional movement. all a little to abstract for my poor brain.)

'God' is omniscient and omnipotent. The only way he would fuck up is if he meant to fuck up. He would always know what he was doing, and wouldn't have to learn from any mistakes. I also hate it when people try to equate god to a person playing a fucking video game as if that is justification for how truly cruel the Christian god is.
#385 - sexwithyourwife (05/10/2013) [-]
How the fuck can you say god is omniscient and omnipotent. Have you met him? Would you have any idea as to tell if he's lying or not if he told you he was both those things? The whole idea of a god makes me a little mad. Not to the point of rage but to the point as to question why anyone would follow so blindly behind something "life changing" as they might put it. The Christian faith and a majority of other Religion remind me of this (see picture) It was a way to explain what happens after death and a way to control the masses/giving them something to look forward to in there sad lives. A way to give meaning to life and an explanation to why the universe exists.People might turn to it as a way to give meaning to there lives or simply because they've been taught to believe since birth. It's a beautiful thought and I like the basis of it. I also enjoy a lot of the charity and morals that the Church has to teach,But I'd like those values to be taught for the goodness of it and not because "it'll get you into heaven" . Why is it that these believers only take into account one possible solution of the creation of the universe, why is it so hard to think that after we die we're just broken... That the meaning of life is life itself has no meaning. That all of this! Is for nothing. It's here because it is, so lets just make the most of it and not try and wonder what happens after or wait to get to heaven but try and make a heaven on earth. You shouldn't be a good person because some book told you to or because you fear hell, but you should be a good person because you know it's right.

I'm getting a little to philosophical so i'll just stop it there. TL:DR just read it ,it's not that long... If you wanna debate me on the existence of god I'll be more then happy to and I'll try and be civil about it as long as you consider different points of view.
User avatar #610 - grahamcracker (05/11/2013) [-]
This is a little late and I am anon, but I completely agree with everything you said. My god in quotations I'd hoped implied me to be an atheist and I was trying to explain my point of view of the Christian god. The christian god is o3, omniscient, omnibenevolent, omnipotent. The morals religion teaches is fine, if it wasn't taught with a punishment/reward system.
User avatar #461 - GoldenLotus (05/11/2013) [-]
I have to agree. Omniscient and Omnipotence are also logically impossible, so I don't even know how it gets to that (although I've heard people say god transcends logic and that goes back to what you said, where are they even getting this information?)

Actually it was originally called 'Alumine' in 1761 by Guyton De Morveau, then Humphry Davy renamed it Alumen, then changed to Aluminum, but then changed his mind again and renamed it Aluminium so as to conform with the existing periodic table names. That name stuck for everyone, including America, until the 19th century, when one fucking guy called Charles Martin Hall changed/misspelled the name on a flier advertising his newly patented electrolytic process for producing the metal. Said patent even calls it Aluminium, but he let the name stick and his total market domination meant that America was conned into saying it his way.

Hitler still would've lost, he was a terrible military leader and he made a shit-ton of critical errors that led to his defeat and he would make more.
#47 - srslyjakecease (05/09/2013) [-]
Whether thats true or not, the war would have been much worse without the western front. Hitlers army was still enormous, and he had a lot of good generals, his own military leadership not withstanding.

A lot of his errors were made out of desperation in the final throws of the war, while others where mistakes he made because he insisted on doing what Napoleon couldn't. (invading Russia, and the British Isles for instance)

I'm not saying he would have won. What I AM saying is that the fighting with Germany wouldn't have ended in 1945.

Fair point, however the man who discovered the substance named it Aluminum: elemental naming conventions are not set in stone, so he named it aluminum, not aluminium.
Your sarcasm was unnecessary by the way. It takes something that could have otherwise been a contribution to a fairly friendly argument, and makes it outright insulting. I don't appreciate it.

#42 - srslyjakecease (05/09/2013) [-]
You say that like it was one person who developed it.
The idea was pushed forward by Einstein, developed by a large team of scientists lead by Oppenheimer, and was funded by the United States Government.

Also the bit I'm talking about, the European front, had absolutely nothing to do with the bomb, it was over before the bomb was even finished.

No, without the U.S. D-day would have most likely have failed, or never occured, and the Germans would have been left in a one on one zerg-rush with the Russians. There would have been no second front, and the war would have extended for an indefinite amount of time, with an uncertain outcome.
