jackleeswagger (10/29/2015) [-] That's the thing though. Bigger companies and corporations can afford to take the hit, and or replace low skilled labor with a machine. It's the small companies that will not be able to compete. Did u know that according to 2013 Forbes around 50% of Americans are employed by a small business? I'm sure you aren't stupid and can figure the counter productivity in hurting small businesses. How many of those small businesses employ people at minimum wage? Also, I already mentioned the fact that this would definitely undoubtedly hurt some small businesses. I am not denying that. What I am asserting is that the benefits to the lower class (not being broke as fuck, and allowing them to get less government assistance) is worth it in the long term. Big companies being able to take the hit is exactly the point though, Some may be able to replace with automation, but I guarantee you my last job couldn't be automated yet. In fact, many jobs like my old one still exist because customer interaction is a very important factor in retail, and can't be automated well. #203 -

jackleeswagger (10/29/2015) [-] That's a huge portion of people able to afford more things like milk, eggs, and fuel. That means those prices WILL go up. You wrong nigguh. Shit, i thought I responded to this earlier. Yeah, some prices will go up, but it's not like it will cancel out. It will improve quality of life for many people. I'm not saying prices won't go up, but it's not the only thing that will happen. One of the big drawbacks is actually that there are some business, usually small ones, that won't be able to continue operating as they are. #168 -

| You can safely ignore Metal Gear 1 and 2 (MSX games, the very first chronologically released) then for the PSP you can miss Portable Ops and Portable Ops+. If you intend to play MGS5 then you can watch the Peacewalker scenes on youtube and ignore the gameplay, since MGS5 is essentially a refined version of those mechanics. For Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 All you really need to know is that solid snake was sent to Zanzibar land to infiltrate Outer Heaven made by Big Boss. BB had some war orphans and a metal gear and grey fox (proto Raiden) and you saved, destroyed and crippled them respectively. Big Boss got burnt so bad he died and his corpse is just a crisp. Then you're into MGS1 and essentially it's a chronological order from then on out. It will take a considerable time to do it even with the omissions, but I say it's worth it. MGS3 is without hyperbole one of my top3 games of all time | ||

anon (10/30/2015) [-] If you play it in release order it makes it easier to identify references and in-jokes about the prior releases. If you play it chronologically the story actually makes a bit more sense. Release order is what makes the most sense, because the changes on a mechianical sense would drive you nuts having to go backwards. The story still holds that way, just so long as you remember that basically everything starts with Big Boss' story in MGS3 and the next big mile stone is where Solid Snake becomes the main character in MGS1 You can safely ignore Metal Gear 1 and 2 (MSX games, the very first chronologically released) then for the PSP you can miss Portable Ops and Portable Ops+. | You can put alot into this but i believe it's way to short of a story to put that much into it, i'd rather have it much longer to actually become attatched to the character. She just comes off as a cunt after she does what she does. I dont like it, there are way better stories with Redemption arcs than this.

| Theres not much to be redeemed, She had a boyfriend she was happy but then she felt like he was holding her back left him and pretty much said that she didnt give a shit that he was broken hearted The instant he sees her again she calls him pathetic, is in disbelief that he even came outside in the first place and runs off only to be almost raped, because of her shit ass karma, he saves her anyway despite being a super cunt. He finally realizes after "you know I had fun but this bitch aint worth it" and moves on YEARS later as the fucking comic states now she wants to get back with him? she thinks she can jsut have it back? no fuck that bitch. You were a cunt. This comic is trying to tell me that I should feel bad just because she was finally like "I was wrong bring back the guy i was an asshole to" This isn't how a proper redemption arc is done. with you WATCHING the person turn into a cunt and realize shes a cunt. thats not fun to read #44 -
srskate (10/10/2015) [-] I mean, if you didn't read it and only looked at the pictures, I can see that being reasonable. if we were to break this into a character arc, we have The beginning: Happy couple with happy lives. Girl isn't too happy with herself, but they're good together The fall: Girl starts to become more attractive. She starts getting attention she never got before, and she really doesn't know what to do with it. She's even receiving that all important parental love and approval. This part is such a classic staple of storytelling that it's the chorus of a bunch of songs Watsky, my favorite www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoNsxczQ0y0 . It's a tragic character flaw. To quote the song I linked, she picks the "faint praise of strangers / over one who truly cares." The low point: She finds him outside of a club. She assumes he's been following her, maybe she's right, maybe she's wrong. We can't know for sure, as it isn't clarified, but my personal opinion is that she's right. She lists some good points. Honestly, it isn't important. What is important is we see how low she's sunk. The rise: after she is saved from a terrible fate by him, she immediately begins to see the error of her ways. She cares for him, wants to take him to the hospital, and failing that, immediately begins bettering herself to become more like him. She regrets what's she's done and wants to atone for it. So she works. Climax: And when she finds him, he's moved on. Like he should have. And she agrees that it is what he should have done. She doesn't try to ruin it, she doesn't make his life hard, she accepts that she messed up and lost him. Falling action: Now she's dying. She is narrating the story. We see the protagonist regretful, explaining herself without making excuses. Apologizing. And he is there for her, because that's just in his character. She dies, cue tragedy. Seriously, there's so much more to this than you give it. You can put alot into this but i believe it's way to short of a story to put that much into it, i'd rather have it much longer to actually become attatched to the character. She just comes off as a cunt after she does what she does. I dont like it, there are way better stories with Redemption arcs than this.
