Yes, that is how it is often taught in the south. It is technically true in the sense that the north declared war on the south, but seeing the need to preserve the union after failed diplomacy doesn't translate into "aggression" very well.
Yes, that's what a lot of people in the South call it
Living in Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida, I've never heard it called that before. I think this one is just a meme or a term used by small fringe groups that is perpetuated by the notion that people think southerners are stupid, and I'll admit that most are. Kinda like how people said that blacks hate the Confederate flag even though growing up I've seen blacks, whites, and Hispanics wearing clothing with the Confederate flag, and the thought of hatred was mostly made by leftists outliers, until it became true by media and Government involvement.
I went to school in North Carolina. They teach that in history class. Everyone there who wasn't a northerner called it that, same with South Carolina and Georgia. Idk about Tennessee
And i have no idea why you'd think Oklahoma would be included in this, they're not exactly southern, they're Midwestish
Yep born and raised in Oklahoma. Never heard it called that.
Lived in Oklahoma and Georgia for 21 years now, can confirm.
