First off - NEET stands for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training". A weeabo may be weird and obsessive, but they aren't near as big losers as NEETs.
Second - the video is basically just saying "don't let your life be consumed by your obsessions". Sure, their example is this culture, but it applies to everything. At first it's great and you feel happy partaking in it. But as time goes on, you fall deeper and deeper into the pit and it gets harder to climb out. You begin to sacrifice other aspects of life - important ones; your priorities fall apart. And eventually you go over the line, you do something you can't recover from. You realize your addiction, you fight against it and try to climb out of the pit. But all too often the hole has become too deep. The relationships don't recover, you can't escape the addiction - and you fall back into the pit.
tl;dr Be a weeaboo/alcoholic/chain-smoker/etc in moderation, but don't let it take over your life.

I don't know if you're retarded, but a slow birth rate would help japan a LOT.

Also - Japan is fucked when it comes to babies. Their race is literally dying because their xenophobia, work-oriented culture, etc. The government is taking initiatives to get people to have children because it's a huge problem over there.

But the jobs thing is bullshit to me. We shouldn't invent inefficiency or complexity for the sake of jobs, jobs should only exist to supply a needed role. And where possible, humans should be replaced by specialized machines. We should aim for a system where everyone can be provided for and the only jobs necessary are those impossible by machines such as engineering, art, etc.

I'm not saying immediately, I'm saying that should be the end goal. The idea to make more jobs that won't benefit anyone and may even be detrimental to efficiency just because people need jobs instead of just giving those people that are unneeded what they need to live and a bit of luxury is stupid in my opinion.

Some people honestly do just want to play video games all day. People who want to do something trivial just to pass time could volunteer. And when you take away the useless jobs and the idea that someone needs one to just provide for their family, you open a huge freedom. Instead of working 50-hours a week to feed your kids, here's the money to do that, and here's a little for you and them to buy non-necessities. They could realize they have some calling in life, go get the eduction or training necessary and then achieve it. People with medical problems, too old to work but too young for technical retirement, etc can stop working whenever they feel they need to. Etc.
I mean, I know I'm not realistic. This system couldn't possibly work in a modern (or perhaps even human) world and requires a lot of changes in the foundation of how our society works. But in my mind it's a damn fine goal to aim for.
But I totally see where you're coming fro and people definitely do need jobs right now. I'm just saying that as an ideology I don't agree.
Thanks for being civil.

For one the country would have to be insanely wealthy to pull that off, if people didn't have to work ever, then fucking no one would work. What would be the point? Not all work is 100% fun, in fact most of it isn't, but it's necessary to remind you that you have to earn what you have. Or at least you should.
#76 - Fgner (12/10/2014) [-]
> You just said people need something to live for. Either stick with what you said or say that people would rather never do anything.
> People who worked would still be compensated and live better than people who didn't.You want to be middle or upper class, get a job that contributes to society. Those who don't work live in the lower classes. Motivation still exists for the "American dream", but at the same time no one goes hungry.
> "Necessary to remind you that you have to earn what you have. Or at least you should" Really? This is kind of a dumb statement. We don't earn virtually anything of what we have. We are born into this time period and the families we have. And look at the huge population of impoverished children that won't eat every night, that won't have the chance to attend college, that are basically screwed by birth. Hell, my example is extreme - the impoverished part isn't even necessary to be screwed by birth now. Basic income would at least give everyone a base chance. Higher class people still have a better success rate, but at least no one is in such poverty they have none at all. And screwing up young doesn't mean you're doomed forever - you always have that base chance and a way to pick yourself back up.
Plus, if we can strive to provide for everyone - we should. I feel uncomfortable saying someone, even a lazy someone, has no right to basic necessities of life and a little bit of fun. We give most animals more than that.

That's their problem. Here in the US the birth rate is just fine.
