games like this don't make much sense to me...
To me, it seems lazy.
sculpt, throw some code for movement and there you have that game.

Wouldn't it be better to have units walk around and/or actually perform attacks and stuff?

roll20.net is basically just static flat map design online with animated dice and a repository of art and resources online.

this is pretty much the same thing but 3d, which is amazing as all fuck to me

it's literally just the map. I've seen the dev's things and you build the map yourself. it's like a big set of lego bricks that you can make into an interractive map

Yea, but then suddenly they have to animate every attack, every action, every interaction with everything in the environment. D&D is deep. That's why the pen & paper version has never really been truly replicated. That said, even if they did animate it all, that would take away the point of the static miniatures in the first place: to allow the player's imagination to fill in the gap.

In D&D, the player describes how they attack, while the DM describes how the hit lands. A shitty, predetermined animation severely limits this system.

In all seriousness, something about the production value just doesnt strike me as "jontron" and it just seems like it worked better with the old episodes, it just seem like the fun value for me tanked with the starcade stuff
