And about religion, yes, not everyone who is religious is an bigot, but there are some who are - just like in anything other example. Lastly, though stereotypes are bad, they are part of human nature to make - it's easier for the brain to process the world. It attributes certain characteristics to groups of people (or things) so you will (or will not) exhibit certain behaviours around them.The same way that we know not all lions will kill you, but the majority will. It tells us "Hey, maybe it's not a good idea to go over and pet that lion". Stereotypes can be good, too. Anyway, the recurring idea you seem not to be getting from me is that I don't believe all Americans are retards - obviously, great innovation has come from it, it's just that right now, America isn't in the greatest intellectual/economic/cultural position. | ||
