What will music sound like in 100 years?
User avatar #130683 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
I think the outer auditory system would be skipped; no sounds. Instead, certain signals would stimulate specific sensory receptors inside the brain, emulating an entire spectrum of emotions inside the primary auditory cortex where we would experience a stupor of aurul dysphoria and euphoria, simultaneously.
User avatar #130693 - thebestpieever (10/14/2014) [-]
That's like saying books will be replaced with just downloading a movie to your head. It's similar results, different disciplines.
User avatar #130708 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
Books and Movies tell stories, Music doesn't necessarily have to
User avatar #130697 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
Except thats information
User avatar #130698 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
I'm saying no concepts, no ideas, no data, only feelings, all the feelings. An orgasmic emotional rollercoaster triggered by signals, the same way everyday things would trigger an emotional response, but without the trigger, just the response.
User avatar #130702 - thebestpieever (10/14/2014) [-]
And I'm saying that's not the same discipline. That's why I drew the movie and book comparison. The focus of both is to tell a story, hopefully to evoke a reaction. But a book is more than a cheaply made movie, the language is of utmost importance and the pacing at which you are carried along it's different. They may move through the same motions, and maybe elicit the same reactions, but at the end of the day it's a different craft altogether. There is more than an end result to a discipline, there is a process.
User avatar #130707 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
I see you mean "thats not music" but you're stuck in the past
User avatar #130704 - kaisakuenkou (10/14/2014) [-]
In the future, you wouldn't need that process, why try to evoke emotion, when you can do it with a press of a button?
User avatar #130737 - thebestpieever (10/14/2014) [-]
Because there's more than pragmatism to any given craft. No one stopped drawing after pictures came along. Hell, no one even stopped trying to perfectly replicate a human face with pencils after pictures came along. The craft of something matters to the people who make it. People who enjoy their craft are not going to give it up for more practical reasons that disregard the process they enjoy.

Although it's pretty shit. I mean, Gimme Chocolate is a good song

only if you split it into the metal part and the pop part.

Put the pop parts and the metal parts together and it's a piece of shit with no flow

I disagree, I think they are the best genre blenders since System of a Down. Their debut is in my top five this year up there with Triptykon and Behemoth. I'd put Conquering Dystopia and Mayhem above those three but w/e.

I don't know where you got all this opinion from but I don't think you know Hopsin to well, he did not make 7 songs about religion in fact this is the only song he made that focuses on religion. And feelings are what songs are all about so its kinda of if i may say it... retarded of you to think making songs about feelings is pretentious. I don't even understand your analogy of duck taping the two things together and calling it provocative rap when they "both clearly don't fit". I don't know where you are getting this buying into something either, I'm pretty sure most people are just listening to a rap, not buying anything. You are entitled to your opinion of Hopsin, but that doesn't mean your apparent reasoning behind it is sound. Good day/night/whatever.

Ps: I love you

What I want is for them to take a damn chance, take a risk and trust their characters and fans. They point at this Wonder Woman animated movie that didn't do well for their reason but I'd never heard of it until years after it came out and they were talking about it not doing well. Of course it's not going to do well if no-one knows about it. Get some people with good track records behind the camera and some well liked actors that look the part and you've got a hit on your hands, it's not hard. Marvel's printing money because they get good directors and good actors, and more than that, they respect their characters and know if they do them justice people will want to see the, and they're right.

I kinda' liked the Green Lantern movie. It had a certain charm but the second half of the movie dragged on a little too much.
User avatar #5 - chickenbones (09/12/2014) [-]
I kinda liked cat woman, green lantern could have been good, but it got too cheesy. and they used the wrong lantern But i'm pretty easy to please.
User avatar #85 - garymotherfingoak (09/13/2014) [-]
User avatar #30 - dogziller (09/13/2014) [-]
the problem with green lantern is the villain choosing, i think. if i remember, it was parallax, and hes like a heavyweight villain. like the fantastic four movie, don't have the world destroyer in the second movie.
User avatar #48 - hydraetis (09/13/2014) [-]
Why not? I mean from what I know they weren't planning a 3rd Fantastic Four so absolutely no reason not to use the top villain.
User avatar #50 - dogziller (09/13/2014) [-]
except they...wait they weren't? if they were they should have had 2 be about the negative zone and 3 galactus, that'd be the proper way to do it. really i like the silver surfer, and kinda wish he could have a solo movie.
User avatar #51 - hydraetis (09/13/2014) [-]
I think F4 was perfectly fine the way they did it. Making it a trilogy would be unnecessary
#56 - dogziller (09/13/2014) [-]
maybe. i would've liked the negative zone tho, cuz it has a really cool villain id like brought to the big screen, specifically this guy whose name i can't remmber
