Hey I'm trying not to flame but here we go

The bible doesn't really say that slavery is okay, but it uses it to express points.

The thing about it was that slavery was a concept that was fairly common, and the bible wasn't going to ignore this.

Also most of the time you could trade the word slave for Servant for a more accurate representation.

Well I was originally saying that it was stupid to include the Civil War anyway. I was just offering some explanation as to why it was. Like I said, I haven't read the Bible, so I have no idea if that was correct or not.

I got to caught up int the comments, why IS slavery included in this?
#70 - spacelubber (07/10/2012) [-]
I think somewhere in the Bible it says something about slavery being okay (take that with a grain of salt, I have yet to read it myself) and so the creator assumed that that was the reason the South seceded.

#21 - Then where did the expression "Lone Wolf" come from?  [+] (3 new replies) 06/23/2012 on Evolution, bitches +3
User avatar #23 - angelojuusan (06/23/2012) [-]
Well, "wolf" is often meant as "hunter", especially in the context of "lone wolf" Lone Wolf: Lone Hunter. Could also be demeaning in it's original form, as a lone wolf was considered weak for not being with the pack.
#24 - spacelubber (06/23/2012) [-]
Sorry, I guess I phrased that wrong. I wasn't so much questioning the actual etymology as providing a counter-example in question form.

Lone wolves are wolves that exist in solitude (obviously). I just meant to bring up the fact that there ARE circumstances under which a wolf would be fighting on its own, and these examples do exist in nature without any type of tampering by man.

I'm sure you meant "it's NEVER 1v1" in a hyperbolic sense, but there are plenty of stupid people on the Internet that would take your statement as fact. Just trying to prevent whatever stupidity I can!

Some people might not notice what? That he comments multiple times? Since when has that ever been a crime? Different people have different tastes in comedy, what's so wrong about Shadowrated trying to reach all of them? What is your goal here? To stop a thumbwhore? At the same time you stop this alleged thumbwhore, you're halting the flow of funny from one source. Sure, there are plenty of other people who could make the same exact comments, but the fact is that Shadowrated does, and he does it first... I don't see why thumbwhoring justifies thumbing down funny shit.
