i would argue that society is a plutocracy and not a patriarchy. think about it; by definition, a patriarchy has to benefit males. not some males, all males. if a system harms 99% of men, it's not a patriarchy, because it's not a system made to support men, it's a system made to support the rich, who happen to be men.
if we truly had a "patriarchy" men would benefit in literally every way from society, and problems such as family court bias, unfair sentencing, workplace death rates and the fact that under most country's laws, men can't actually be raped except by other men. there's a huge number of inequalities against men that simply aren't addressed or acknowledged that, to me, make it impossible for me to accept that our social and political systems are solely designed to benefit men.

no, i don't own a fedora. no, i'm not obese. no, i have no beard on my neck region. i'm just a guy who was abused by his ex-girlfriend and am tired of not having my experience taken seriously just because i'm a man.

I dislike him too don't get me wrong, because he is an arrogant twat, but rolling stone did a post interview "fact check" and what he actually said was: "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

Still an arrogant twat tho

I look at it this way. Death Metal is still alive and well all over the place. Regardless of of new movement there are still death metal bands around. Maybe not mainstream enough for you perhaps but I enjoy deathcore, its simple yet effective to my listening enjoyment. There is plenty of modern death metal bands, maybe not true death metal like Death per say, but I consider the following to be death metal; The Black Dahlia Murder, Children of Bodom, beyond creation, Infant annihilator, Beneath The Massacre, Spawn of Possession, Fallujah, Between the Buried and me, and a host of others.

i want you to look at your list and count the number of bands with breakdown sections and heavy metalcore influence. then look back to my last post. i rest my case. deathcore has made real death metal a rarity and forced it much further underground than it should be

I actually meant, making songs in general is hard, not learning them on guitar.
Actually, Europe is the best place for a band like them to grow and spread, i don't know why, but particularly Germany is very friendly for this. Also, not the band itself is destroying society, they just do what they do, it's the fanbase, the community who destroys it. It's like various games (CoD), the people who play it are bad and insulting and complete assholes, but the game itself just wanted to be played, they don't anticipate such bad community.

The bands in Europe are as far as i know very friendly, and very wild (in a peaceful way) partyanimals. They are very ordinary and their behavior is the opposite of loud. Every song is a shitton of work, even Deathcore. They often sing about how stupid people are with their live, and drug abuse. My biggest inspiration is Korn. I've been listening Korn for about 10 years, and i knew how hard life can be, people don't give a shit what people think about them, they just want to release the pain they've went throughout the years. Also classic metal is my favorite, every kinds of Metal, but Deathcore is one of my favorites, (even though people say Deathcore isn't metal, but i don't give a damn) because of the hard disturbing riffs. I've been playing guitar for quite a bit now, playing every songs i like (It's of course a dropped 7 String) on it, and loving it how it gives me chance to escape from RL (which sounds pretty gay) Also i've been doing Vocals. Everyone can growl, but not all can scream. And, if you do the wrong technique you can damage your vocal chords pretty badly. Having a voice like the singer of S.S is pretty unique, and the singer of Korn also has a fucked up voice. The Metal community is fighting each other, but the bands are supporting each other, which is awesome.

deathcore is pretty much the furthest thing from hard compared to real death metal. go give Universe Momentum a shot on your guitar, and then come back and say deathcore is hard. i've also had nothing but insults and belittlement from deathcore bands and musicians, so maybe europe is just more accepting?

Retarded, commercial clone of metal isn't actually right.
I've been into deathcore for a long time, and a shitton of people don't even know this kind of genre exists. The Deathcore scene is pretty indirect, maybe people run around with their merch, but actually they are really silent, they don't let everybody know they listen to this stuff. A friend of mine told me after 2-3 years that he listen to this, but i never really knew about that. Retarded sounds harsh. If you don't love it, you hate it. The really first song of Deathcore was a song by them, i thought "Why the fuck are people getting money for this? I can do better". After a week, I had this kind of urge to listen to that song again. And again and again, until i kinda liked it. I loved the breakdowns, so i downloaded alot of songs because of their breakdowns, and the rest of the song was actually pretty stupid. I had to accostum to the rest of the song, and that's how it brought me into it.

it's entirely different here and in most of north america. deathcore fans are loud, obnoxious, kill shows for everyone, and worst of all, watered down death metal. since they got popular, people started emulating them, and when it became a trend, labels started heavily promoting them. oh shit, suddenly most of the available "death metal" on the market is this dumbed down, image-based crap drawing on influences from shit like atreyu and avenged sevenfold, and actually talented modern bands like Beyond Creation and Obscura get sidelined because they're not "trendy". it takes little or no talent to write or perform, meaning it can spread even faster. it's basically a virus on heavy music. if you want slower, heavy riffs, get into brutal death metal bands like Cryptopsy, Suffocation or Dying Fetus because they at least know how to play, and can actually write a song out of more than 3 notes

User avatar #471 - sovereignsunkown (08/23/2013) [-]
no, but deathcore pretty much overran death metal, and its influence bled into a lot of newer bands. the focus in modern death metal isn't on leads or musical ability anymore thanks to the deathcore movement, which suicide silence pretty much made popular

Well, then let them be themselves.
I don't like BMTH, but that's no reason to hate the shit out of them.

i didn't thumb down, but i explained why some people might be pissed. it also probably has to do with the fact that they aren't actually a metal band at all. they're deathcore, AKA the retarded, commercial clone of metal
