It really resembles one of the early and famous scenes from Parasyte, but the quality and texture of the art points it towards being made in the mid-late eighties.

I read the manga novels to this years ago and I can't believe how genuinely horrifying the anime is compare to how hokey the books were. I mean the story was cool but the art just silly in places. Case in point that scene there was ridiculously silly to me back in the day. Kids today don't know how spoiled they are with Jungi Ito.

no its not...kojima stated that he wanted snake to be "the players avatar" so he will take the role of a "silent protagonist" to help with that illusion...
