Ok so cardio
make you lose gains, but it's not as simple as "do cardio, lose muscle".
I forget what it's called, but your body has this kind of "reserve energy" that it uses before it starts to burn fat. Cardio will burn off that reserve energy first, like any other workout, and then it will start to burn off fat. However, cardio will also burn off muscle, not a lot but enough that a bodybuilder would avoid any large amount of cardio since over time all that lost muscle builds up.
So does cardio kill gains? Well, yes and no. In technicality, yes it does, but it's a pretty small amount so unless you're running 5 miles every day it won't affect you too much.
It's why people recommend you don't try to lose fat and build muscle at the same time. In addition to getting a layer of muscle under the fat that makes you look chunky and feel bad about yourself, the two goals work against each other to an extent.
I'm still in the process of losing fat, so I don't care too much about muscle right now. Cardio 5 hours a week for me until I lose my belly fat, then I'll scale cardio back to like a 20-30 minute warmup before weights and other exercises.
well your baby batter contains a bit of protein so i guess your body has to use some energy that would be spent towards your gains to replenish your spunk. but this is coming from a guy with no in depth knowledge about that specific aspect of human biology and could very well be total bullshit.
