I think maybe the people that you know watch anime are the types to go around telling everyone like it's some sort of thing that makes them elite or whatever and those same types are also the ones who wear a trench coat with shorts and a T shirt and a fedora, and grow the ugliest neckbeard in the world.

That said, it does not at all mean that it's bad. There are perfectly normal people who watch anime and just keep it to themselves, as if they're watching some sort of other genre of show. I mean, I would say that the most popular anime are definitely not for children. It would be like saying Family Guy is for children just because it's a cartoon. Just remember, the loudest fans of any form of entertainment are usually also the shittiest.

please don't associate people who enjoy watching anime to actual weaboos, and calling it 'stupid ass anime' becasue you dont find the appeal in it is kinda ignorant. It's like people blatantly calling your prefered choice of entertainment stupid because....they dont like it. It's always weird to other people's eyes when a person takes an (extreme) liking towards a particular thing/person. (in this case, the Weaboos who are obsessed with Anime and probably Japanese culture).

I can be a better time waster than videogames depending on the show. Not everything has to be 9 year old catgirls fucking or teens killing God either, there's plenty of shows that have well written story and pacing. There's shows that deal with very real topics, like dealing with familial rifts, simply finding what really makes you happy in life, hell for younger kids there's shit about how school fucking sucks but nobody gives a fuck once it's over. There's a show about literally fucking anything you can think of. Also have you seen the shit on American TV? There's maybe a single good show ever 3 years and once it's over it's over, everything that lasts a long time these days is either Real Housewives or some bullshit about how a celebrities life is hard because they have too many limos. Also the fact that it's animated gives more options for directors to do what they want with the show

Anime is a medium for conveying a story, nothing more. We can't help it that there are some seriously creepy shows out there just like how sports fanatics can't help how often grown men end up in gay piles "fighting" each other for a ball of some kind.

Also on the topic of body pillows... there are life size posters and action figures modeled after your favourite sports player that you can buy. You can say whatever you want about body pillows, but I find it just as creepy if not more that you have millions of folks collecting sports paraphernalia like it was being handed out by jesus himself. Every hobby has the weird and creepy fan, don't kid yourself into thinking otherwise.

woah woah woah, I absolutely fucking love anime, however I don't have a body pillow or any anime antiquities. I simply enjoy the stories, and am a fan of the shonen type story. Shit's amazing, the characters can overcome insurmountable odds through hard work and proper values. They can portray otherworldly abilities, live in fantastical worlds, and can just in general be things you can't see in the real world. Animation is a means of encapsulating impossibilities in the normal world into a way we can view it and relate to it. Fuk u buddy, anime is bretty cool guy. And no I'm not a fat neck beard.
