Well i use a composition notebook for its size( small ) and portability, makes it easy to carry around, and keep at my desk, and i found that with pen, this paper is perfect, its not to thin and britle and it doesnt give resistance to my stroke, oh i forgot to mention i cannot use pencils for the life of me, i find them to be dull, and crumble and dont give the feeling i want( sorry for sounding hipster). The only downsides i find to my drawing preferences is that the composition notebook contains lines which takes away from the art and since i use pen i cant erase mistakes, or brainstorm easily or perfect my shading, as you can see. But i really appreciate your adivce and even more so your compliment, thank you.:)

Well, there are sketchbooks that are somewhat small (or travel sized, whatever you prefer). I have three separate ones, each in varying sizes. The paper is a little bit rough, but I think pen work is fine with it.

If you're really into pens, maybe you should get some Rapidographs. They're permanent ink. Maybe the kind you would use for comic books? But with your fine details, I think they'd be nice. They glide pretty well. (I have a case of my own.)
