For the SCP-173 one it's the same "nothing or "non-existence" cant rap your hands around your neck and kill you.

You're eyes aren't programmed to the rendering of the world. The world is no minecraft or any other video game. The light that reflects in your eyes allows you to see what is infront of you no to render it.
