Everything about mega evolutions bug me. Also I wasn't a fan of the starters or the story

The first three gens were amazing and perfect. Gen 4 was good enough to give me enjoyment. Gen 5 had SOME cool Pokemon, but overall I didn't love the game and it started getting too easy. Gen 6 was nostalgic with the old Pokemon, which is nice, and didn't add many more, but it started getting way too easy and wasn't as fun because your Pokemon are just too over-levelled the entire game. Same with the Alpha/Omega remakes, but Emerald was my favourite, so it's nice to replay it with HD graphics, even if it has changed a lot.
That's my opinion.

I'm going through Gen III right now, on Emerald, after having played only Yellow and Gold, and my biggest complaint is how easy it is to get places. Having the running shoes makes getting everywhere faster right from the get-go, and the towns are both twice as numerous (Yellow and Gold only had eight/nine per map, Gen III has sixteen) and really close together. Took eight seconds to run in a straight line from Mauville to Verdanturf. Didn't touch any grass, got stopped by three or four trainers.

Nintendo has run out of creative ideas for pokemon. somennintendo looks at an ice cream cone and goes "what if we gave it eyes" and then they make it a pokemon, they kill a bit of my faith.

I only ever played up to diamond and pearl so i cant really make an opinion on them. Ruby/Sapphire had some of my favorite pokemon designs and hot damn Firered/Leafgreen was the tightest shit.

I do have to agree though Diamond/Pearl is when it began to feel like a grind.

I'd argue it's actually less grindy now.

it was always a grind. i didnt fight brock until i had like 4 level 16 pokemon. then again being 4 and saying i can make my guys stronger before fighting the boss was like telling me to go farm forever.

I remember when personality didn't matter, and the only training you needed was to beat the shit out of any pokemon, it didn't matter which pokemon it was.

I hate that IV stuff to, i dont know a lot about it but i heared a pokemon lvl 100 maxed with rare candies is now weaker than a 'trained' lvl 60. So they took one of the most awesome items (rare candy) and made it useless

I hate the new legendary's. In gen I you had 151 pokemon, 5 of em legendary's Thats 1 in 30. Now they have 720 pokemon and 54 legends. 1 in 13 is legendary now.

Whats the deal with shiny's, they dont have any advantage, why would you care?

Whats the actual deal with that phone stuff? Random trainers with 2 pidgeys and a zubat constantly calling me... srsly, i only played blue and emerald, and is stopped emerald after elite 4. Is there a use to giving random trainers your number?

I remember in Emerald, a part that i could see May. I backed away slowely and went back to heal my pokemon. Thats not the role of a 'rival'. In Gen I you would fight your way trough forests and caves for a shitlong time. Half you pokemon K.O. one asleep and the other crippled and running out of PP.
When you finally made it to the end and saw a town coming up you would hear Gary Motherfucking Oak's theme and he would beat the shit out of you when you dont least expected. That was a real rival

1) I assume you mean EVs? You don't train for IVs. EV training is so that little shits don't go and use 99 rare candies on a pokemon to get them to level 100 with 0 effort, because you then have to work to get the EVs. But oh wait, this shit was around even back in the early days. It's not a new thing.

There's only 1 legendary pokemon per save file, and they generally have massive base stats. The Romans had many gods, that didn't mean each of them was not unique or powerful.

People freak out about shiny's because they're so rare. It's like winning the lottery.

As for rematching, each game is different. They don't even use the phone thing except for in Emerald IIRC.

He got me twice when i played the game for the first time.
The first time was on the S.S. Anne. I was still shaping my team. My team was poorly equipped for fighting water pokemon, i wanted an Electabuzz, didnt know it wasnt included in pokemon Blue. So i was already weakened when he appeared. My pokemon where a higher lvl and i almost got him, but he got me.

The second time was in the league. I wasnt strong enough to fight the elite 4 and him in one go, and i didnt stock up on healing items.
